Memorial Day 2021

Rama and Lakshmana come upon the dying Jatayu, King of Birds. Rama embraces Jatayu to His Heart. The great eagle warrior had tried to prevent Ravana from abducting Sita, Rama’s wife. Jatayu struck Ravana repeatedly with his wings until, finally, Ravana sliced them off. As reward for his self-sacrifice defending Dharma, proper conduct, Jatayu dies with eyes and ears fixed on the beautiful Lord Rama. At the moment of his death, Jatayu merges in Lord Rama. The Merciful Lord, Almighty God, takes to Himself as His own, each and every warrior — regardless their side in a fight — who sacrifices their own life to protect Dharma.

Memorial Day Message from President Trump

On this Memorial Day, we remember the fallen heroes who took their last breaths in defense of our Nation, our families, our citizens, and our sacred freedoms. The depth of their devotion, the steel of their resolve, and the purity of their patriotism has no equal in human history. On distant battlefields, in far-off oceans, and high in the skies above, they faced down our enemies and gave their lives so that America would prevail. They made the supreme sacrifice so that our people can live in safety and our Nation can thrive in peace. It is because of their gallantry that we can together, as one people, continue our pursuit of America’s glorious destiny.

We owe all that we are, and everything we ever hope to be, to these unrivaled heroes. Their memory and their legacy is immortal. Our loyalty to them and to their families is eternal and everlasting.

America’s warriors are the single greatest force for justice, peace, liberty, and security among all the nations ever to exist on earth. God bless our fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, Airmen, and Marines. We honor them today, forever, and always.

The same God is the indweller of all beings. People attribute many names to God like Allah, Jesus, Rama, Krishna, etc., but God is one. Do not observe any difference between the different names of God. There are many sweets like laddu, jilebi and mysore pak, but they have the same essential ingredient of sugar in them. Names and forms may vary, but the Atma is the same in all. Rama and Krishna were not born with these names; they were given these names by their parents. God does not come down with any particular name.  Nirgunam, niranjanam, sanatana niketanam, nitya, shuddha, buddha, mukta, nirmala swarupinam (God is attributeless, pure, final abode, eternal, unsullied, enlightened, free and embodiment of sacredness). Do not be carried away by names and forms. Rely on the principle of the Atma which is formless.
