The old standards remain the standards.
Fundamentals have not changed, only incidentals.
We go here and there looking for God.
Truth is, we are ever only looking right at Him.
Scimus autem quoniam diligentibus Deum omnia cooperantur in bonum, iis qui secundum propositum vocati sunt sancti. And we know that to them that love God, all things work together unto good, to such as, according to his purpose, are called to be saints.
I try to think ahead of known knowns, known unknowns, and unknown unknowns. As can say others who engage reality this way, the labor is difficult, intense, and lonely. St. Jerome’s Hebrew teacher, a Rabbi, consoled him with a Roman proverb: Labor Improbus Omnia Vincit. Only a truly civilized culture can produce such an aphorism. It has been my guidon many times and oft.
Strategics and government, as topics of study, summon the topic of wealth before the student’s gaze. Wealth is a divine quality — Vishnu in Hinduism, Holy Spirit in Christianity — having a dangerous appearance and a satisfying reality. There is wealth and there is wealth. Common wealth, the appearance of wealth, we know much and chase often. Spiritual wealth, the reality of wealth, we know less and chase little. Strategics and government should concern themselves with the latter, with spiritual wealth.
Almost a year ago, I posted here this study of wealth, strategics, and government. The subject continues to arrest my attention. That important I believe it to be. Here are some short takes from recent ruminations on the subject.
First, and overall, there is this update of a famous presence:
In Hoc Signo Vinces
The elites are the quiet, intelligent, loving ones who perform their duties well as children and parents, husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, throughout the many endeavors of life which comprise an organic community. These raucous showboaters in church, academe, government, law, media, finance, etc. belong to another description altogether. They are dacoits.
Bad people calling themselves elites is a con. There is no reason to participate in their con. Elites cultivate love, not terror, not fear, not confusion, not hatred.
The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy.
James 3:17
When you return to your church — and such is not necessary — make it your first order of business to dismiss the clergy and their staffs for infecting the sanctuary.
Three Romes Doctrine is little-known outside honest and competent students of history. Awareness of Three Romes Doctrine is important and Mr. Petrick uses his awareness of the same properly and constructively. Thank you, Mr. Petrick!
A couple of additional data points, an observation, and an exposition, if I may:
Latin, Greek, and Russian share a common linguistic root: Sanskrit.
Greco-Roman Culture, Latin Christian Culture, and Greco-Russian Christian Culture share a common cultural and religious root: Vedas.
Chinese language does not have a Sanskritic root, and Chinese religion and culture — with exception of a modest Buddhist presence, including Tibetan — do not have a Vedic root.
Communism — a perversion / heresy of Latin Christianity — is a bolt-on, not integral to China, and therefore it has no aseity there. Communism is integral with Latin Christianity (Russia is half European, half Asian, the latter to include Nestorian Christian) but has no aseity in Europe or the Americas because of its perverse, heretical origin and nature.
Were I in position to effect deployment of the three assets of USA statecraft — Diplomacy, Finance, War-Fighting — I would help Russians regain Russian state control of Constantinople, at least the European side thereof.
Give them Portia’s solution. The law allows freedom of speech. The law also allows punishment for speech which harms someone. They want to mandate CRT. Fine. Let them mandate CRT and put that mandate into effect. But if harm come from implementation of their mandate, or if one says they are worse off after implementation than before, the ones mandating CRT and the ones implementing it lose their jobs, their employability, their law licenses, their health insurance, and their complimentary country club membership. They also may be subject to prosecution and punishment for sundry secondary and tertiary harms attributable to CRT and their implementation of it. Let them have their pound of flesh. Exactly one pound, not more, not less, or they lose a pound of their own flesh. This is Portia’s solution. Its name is Justice.
USA should act on USA’s strategic interests, which are geographic, not ethnographic. (CIA / CCP’s Biden-front junta are not USA.) Oppressed populations in other countries are not USA strategic interest.
Insofar as their rulers threaten USA national sovereignty, which is geographic — specifically lines of communication — oppressed populations in other countries suffer whatever USA visits upon their rulers in order to protect USA national sovereignty, the which, done properly, has a side-benefit to oppressed populations in other countries of liberating them from their rulers’ grips.
Kościuszko, Lafayette, and von Steuben came to help Americans gain their freedom because Americans already were fighting for it and because Poland, France, and Germany were at war, or near it, with Great Britain. USA are not obliged to liberate oppressed populations in other countries. Thinking she is, is a species of sedition.
Stalinism is enforcement of the premise that a self-selected committee or junta called “the government” owns everything and everyone and must make everyone else recognize and abide the fact.
The flavor of Leftism we observe here in USA is Stalinism. Maoism is more regimented, forceful, mundane. Stalinists want inside your head, to make you smart, and watch you smart, under the goad of knowing they own you from conception to death.
As putting vote counts under casino-level surveillance catches on, so-called deep blue states will suddenly turn purple and red.
When will cannibalism become behavior mandated and protected by the woke mob? Can’t be far away now.
This question is somewhat equivalent to asking, what next rhetorical repackaging of Socialist hell-raising might we expect to come our way on account of our turning ourselves away from proper behavior?
Angelo is right, through and through, on these points. His points include ones I have made to myself as to why DJT, much as I love the man and his family, should not be POTUS after 20JAN25. He is POTUS until then, by the true vote.
I am surprised Angelo does not mention oligarchs’ lie about the vote as a reason to disrespect them. I am also surprised Angelo uses the phrase republican American. What other kind is there? Any American not a republican is a TWANLOC, not an American, no?
I am happy to see Angelo, unlike so very many, specify measures that can deflate oligarchs’ rampancy. “Conservatives” and “Libertarians” complain and kvetch, calling for this and that impossibility they themselves would not dream of doing, all the while standing about dangling their plumes. Any who now say Trump in ’24 I take as UniParty minions working for oligarchs. The oligarchs would love Americans to waste their time, money, and energy trying to send Donald back to the Oval Office. He already has it, by right, until 20JAN25. An American would labor to restore him there now.
Heschel said that the most anti-Semitic book in the world (he meant anti-Jewish; Arabs are Semites) is The Hebrew Bible. He was right about that. In the same way, one could say the most anti-Christianity book in the world is The Christian Bible. That also is true. Tillich spoke of religion beyond religion and Christianity / religion beyond the churches. Bonhoeffer spoke of religionless Christianity. Sathya Sai Baba says one must travel beyond the church, beyond all limitations of reason and the mind, and emerge in the Supreme Absolute.
Jesus flogged the clergy, lawyers, and financiers, those who operated the religious establishment, not the exploited people, rich and poor, who were being fleeced by that those establishmentarians.
So it is today. The biggest crooks, clerical and lay, are running the churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, etc. The Evangelical Industrial Complex, with their performance stages substituting for worship and prayer in sanctuaries and their stupid arguments over trivia, are the worst. Moslem imams murder bodies. Keepers of the Evangelical Industrial Complex murder souls, just like the ancient clergy (priests) and lawyers (pharisees) did, the ones Jesus flogged for that very reason.
Christianity is an anti-religion religion. It shares that distinctive quality with Hinduism, which is why imams and their armed forces hate Christians and Hindus specifically.
When they go insurrectionist, Christians march on clergy first and lawyers second, as Hus, Luther, Calvin, the Wesleys, and Zinzendorf did. Reform of civil authority is downstream from purification of religious authority. The latter is pretty much an automatic when the former succeeds. The people themselves will take care of their political leadership, and in wise manners, once their spiritual discipline moves God-ward again instead of man-ward. The cause of the American Revolution was the purification of religious practice during The Great Awakening. Jonathan Edwards was the First Father of The American Revolution.
I would not get worked up about this. AP do not move without IC orders. Likely an inter-agency spat, CIA using AP to embarrass State over some policy, process, happenstance, or person about which / whom none of them will talk.
This stuff — “We are on the same team,” “That’s a matter of national security,” “That’s need to know,” “We don’t want to jeopardize sources and methods” — is a load of horse dung. Still, that does not mean they (IC) do not protect each other from being, in fact, de-fenestrated.
I remember this game from the late 1960s, when Senator Gore — Al’s old man — teased relentlessly that he was skeptical of the Vietnam War but never actually did a thing to win it or to stop it. “The poor object to being governed badly. The rich object to being governed at all.” G. K. Chesterton
De-unionizing teachers and administrators would go far towards healing the system, making it personal again, as education actually is. Sending the kids back to their parents with tax refunds to match would do even more for healing. And tax only families whose kids are using the school.
Where there is enmity, the parties have to be separated. There is enmity between students and teachers / administrators. There is enmity between parents and teachers / administrators. That is a lot of enmity. Expecting a system as delicate and personal as education to work in the midst of such enmity is irrational. Send the kids back to their parents, with refunds. Separate the waring parties. Make the parents fulfill their duties to the children they procreate. Moynihan was right.
Economic frenzy will subside in consequence. And families can do this on their own recognizance right now. No need to wait for mass action, for “someone” to “get the ball rolling.” Just roll it yourself, where you are. A family is an authority unit unto itself. If parents need financial or other help, let the grandparents, uncles, and aunts kick in. That’s what friends are for.
I rarely quote scripture because doing so is presumptuous. However, reading this post, and the many fine, improving comments it has elicited, inspires me to recall these words of St. Paul towards the end of a famous and lengthy tirade against a back-sliding congregation of particularly baleful Christians:
For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1
Indeed, our host implies in his own comment on this situation at DOE, and rightly, that fewer, not more, laws and expenditures improve our government. In spiritual matters the same phenomenon obtains: God’s freedom improves our happiness whereas law per se does not. We live for freedom, not for obedience, unless it be to our freedom in Christ. Stalinists, such as populate so many of our institutions, want us to obey their laws, to live in our unhappiness, which makes them happy. St. Paul condemns this behavior in a most bitter language.
Ditto state, county, and local departments of this and that. Water, sewer, comms (open and reliable), safety, parks, and power are about it for government. Taxation is an epiphenomenon of those essentials, not a necessity in its own right; scaled to the need of the departments and no more. Everything else is private responsibility, to include education.
When a candidate comes a-knocking, ask them what they know about running a water department, a police department, a roads and internet department. If they talk about this program and that they want to initiate for this “need” or that, tell them they are unqualified for trust in government because their mind is elsewhere than where it should be when government affairs are under discussion.
I don’t care about “the issues.” I care about whether you know how to run a power grid. If you do not know how to run a power grid, don’t ask to be “in government” because you have no business being there. Just because someone says something you like to hear is no reason to vote for them. What do they know about sewer systems, police procedures, military strategics and tactics, public recreation? Only knowing those things qualifies a person for service in government.
Probably 80% of non-mil federal, state, county, and municipal expenditure today is for private, non-government interest, along with 40-50% of federal and state military expenditure. Private interests are using government’s power of taxation to line their pockets and ream their neighbors. Governments should be restored to functioning as government only, all non-governmental functions and expenditures washed away, sluiced out. And Langley should be returned to livestock pasture.
Wash out first the school boards, then the municipal councils, then the county councils, then the state legislatures, etc. Don’t concern yourself with D or R or I. Concern yourself with demonstrated competencies and willingness to conduct only government functions and nothing more than government functions, which are probably around 20% of what governments are doing today. And return Langley to forest primeval.

All the usual caveats apply — The Democrats cheat, the Democrats always overreach and always lie, too many GOP politicians are just pretend conservatives who support the left, BUT a few thoughts that are hopeful:
- They dramatically overreached with CRT promoting a backlash of concerned parents in areas where they won the last 2 elections
- They dramatically underestimated the amount of cheating they needed to do in order to beat Trump. As a result, even independents think Biden didn’t win fairly. While they need to oppose the audits to protect themselves, it’s clear that there is smoke there due to how hard they are opposing audits. This is leading to states taking steps to reign in the cheating
- Their fight for HR1 (and whatever they are calling it now) are pushing people to realize that there really aren’t common sense safeguards in place. Even 69% of African Americans support voter ID . . . putting that as a public issue is making people realize how little protection there are for elections
David R. Graham to Buanadha-2
Yes, the word is out because UniParty had to cheat and cover so blatantly to have their way with us that they “went out into the blue,” to use a military term which means “expose one’s logistical train.”
Well, we’re having our way with them now, everyone sees the lay of the land, knows who is where, and has a pretty good idea what it’s all about and what to do about that. The word is out to wash locally, which is sound practice.
I predict, for example, that it will be incontrovertible soon that there is no such thing as a “blue state” or “blue city” and that the D Wing of UniParty “win” elections at the point of the count, not at the point of the vote. As the count trues, Americans will get more and more taste for truing it further because they can see that the results are sweet. Also, IC/Academe/Media (aka CCP) will redouble their nefarious and violent active measures against Americans until their budgets, too, are zeroed or their pretense of respectability is washed away, whichever comes first.

Granholm is just keeping up what she learned as Governor of Michigan. There’s a fairly recent history, but a good one, of corrupt and/or incompetent Michigan Governors. Gretchen Whitmer is a chip off the old block. That Jennifer Granholm would be put in charge of anything, let alone energy, tells you how unserious Democrats are about actually producing and handling energy. They think they can just wave some nice virtue signals at cameras to produce things to keep the country moving. When you are all sitting in the dark in California and Texas this summer, remember this.
David R. Graham to Newmanian
This is why I do not care about “the issues.” I care only whether someone who says they want to be in government has competencies and willingness to do those few essential things governments do and nothing more, no “issues,” just water, sewer, safety, power, parks, roads and internet that work reliably and are usable constantly. Education is not a government responsibility. Americans were the best educated in all ranks when their education was private. Any government education will necessarily be indoctrination because it is a step or more removed from a person’s primary educators, their parents, siblings, other family members, and neighbors.
Dantes
“The next time the GOP is in power, entire departments like DOE need to be zeroed out” — just like Gingrich & Co. promised (but failed) to do in the game-changing ’94 election.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Good one.
Rob Aught to Dantes
Almost exactly what I came here to say.
I don’t know what’s funnier. The thought that the Dems would allow the GOP to win any election that the Dems can control or the idea that the GOP would actually do something.
VoteOutIncumbents to Rob Aught
I think it’s important to stop thinking in terms of Democrats and Republicans. There’s only the Uniparty and outsiders whom the Uniparty members want to put in jail.
P Nolan, Wuhan Inst. Virology to Rob Aught
So we’ve given up?
Rob Aught to P Nolan, Wuhan Inst. Virology
No, but I don’t expect the Republican Party to be our saviors.
CRT faced actual grassroots pushback. Any GOP that came out against it were leading from behind.
It’s going to take more like this because the one thing we can be assured of is the GOP is more interested in feeding at the trough than representing the people.
David R. Graham to Rob Aught
Yes. Truing the count, starting locally, is sound practice. It will show something sweet, that there is no such thing as red states and blue states, red cities and blue cities. There are people who want the utilities to work reliably and for everyone and there are people who want to steal as much as they can from their neighbors. This is not a D, R, or I thing. 2020 was a barrage of illumination rounds that gave everyone to see what is going on, where, when, how, and by whom. Now, everyone knows what to do, and I have no doubt they are moving out to do it, as God gives each light to see their own path forward.
The Beatles and their PR squads harm Americans and the world. They transposed admiration for musicians, which is natural, into idolatry of rock bands, which is demonic. We were handling commies in government and entertainment. Then, an ultimate example of the devil’s ability to assume a pleasing shape showed up less than four months after CIA assassinated our President. Americans have been told to worship drug addicts and violent misogynists ever since — and have been doing just that. You weep that your country is in shambles all around, yet you do not look at your own idolatry of low life as the explanation. You did Biden to yourselves, my fellow Americans, you did him to yourselves with your vicious idolatry of . . . rock bands and their descendants?!?!
Sensing argues well first principles and facts, albeit on a narrow front. The tweet he features is indeed a political, not a theological statement, although its author pretends it to be the latter. The theological question at issue is worthiness to receive Communion. The whole-of-Christianity statement on that is unequivocal and lucid: no one in their own right.
Sensing does not discuss, although he alludes to briefly, the hierarchy of sins in RCC dogmatics. There are sins and there are sins. Murder is among the latter, to include suborning murder. The type of sin affects the approach to Communion.
My wonder is two-fold: (1) that there are well over 200 RCC bishops just in USA — that is a lot of administrative overhead! — and (2) that, with a Leftist in the Vatican, they even contemplate taking a stand against the Leftist junta in D.C.
Something is going on behind the scenes between the junta and the bishops. Never before have the bishops so much as demurred against Leftists in government. I suspect this junta is giving the blessed bishops the bolshevik bite out of public view, reminding them that the junta’s authority in all matters whatsoever exceeds any authority the bishops might think they have in anything.
This would be the first time that theme has been piped into the chanceries of the American prelacy. If that is what is happening, I doubt the bishops are bouncing with happiness, and I suspect their discussions focus on measures they can take to deflect the bite and avoid going to Canossa but with the roles reversed. Note Chancellor Bismarck: The Canossa Speech.
How oily, closer to TWANLOC than English.
Acheson’s DOS set up the Korean War. Rusk’s DOS set up the Vietnam War (Rusk sat DOS’s Far East desk leading up to and during the Korean War). Powell’s DOS pushed nation building Afghanistan, after the successful punitive expedition, even though Afghans had and have no desires in that direction. Obama’s DOS savaged Libya, unasked. Pompeo’s DOS did not level with their countrymen on these leadership failures (at the most generous) by DOS and CIA. And, except for MacArthur in Korea, the GOs declined to call BS on DOS’s intrepid arrogance and stupidities. This is more than a leadership failure. This is a moral treason.
Has POTUS Trump endorsed Mike Pompeo’s campaigning for POTUS — by meeting money bags, putting himself under their thumbs, and not by meeting the American electorate — under guise of raising money for good deed doing? Why does a man think going hat in hand with a golden begging bowl is anything other than self-abasing? No wonder TWANLOC Driscoll is thrilled up to a one-word ejaculation.
DOS’s history shows almost as much wreck and ruin as CIA’s. Why would any nation trust Americans at this point? BTW, that iconic photo of the last chopper evacuating DOS personnel from a roof in Saigon is close now to being replicated in Kabul, but on steroids. Things there are at that stage. It will not be long. And again, the GOs declined to call BS on a DOS signature disaster. Another failure of leadership, I presume, about which Simon does not inquire of Pompeo. This is treason of reason, not failure of leadership.

Who? Who deliberately fostered this mass hysteria? If the source is not identified, the poison cannot be dried up, no? How about “Know your enemy.”
Who did this? Who?
Professors and clergy, professor. Professors and clergy. They did it. They are doing it.
And who paid those along the way, and gave them access to media and mechanisms of government?
CIA, who always have been Socialists.
Now, why? Why did they do it?
Numerous sensible answers are forwarded. But only one bears the stress of unattenuated scrutiny: for the simple thrill of messing over people’s lives, of being strong on as many people as possible until they cannot fight back.
This experience teaches us that the meanest, most low down personalities today reside in the schools, churches, synagogues, temples, mosques, and governments and that they itch to fleece and maul their fellow brothers and sisters of the human race, sons and daughters of Almighty God.
Socialism is only and ever about just that: hurting people. But whereas in Russia and China Socialism pushed up from the criminal classes, in USA and Europe the criminal classes first got into the schools, religious institutions, and governments and then began pushing down from there against everyone else.
What are you prepared to do, professor? What is any of us prepared to do? This problem cannot be solved at the ballot box. That venue is too little, too late, a feeble platform awaiting palsied effort.
MITM to David R. Graham
“schools, synagogues, temples, mosques, and governments” You left out churches.
(When we moved to our current town seven years ago, we joined the most conservative church we could find, but our pastor somehow still veered left and woke this past year. We also got the go broke part, as giving and attendance both dropped like a stone.)
David R. Graham to MITM
Thanks, my mistake, fixed. Yes, I know the scenario you describe, recapitulated all over the country. It is thought by many that clergy work for the congregation amongst whom they live. That is not the case. They work for the clerical conclave, whether a bishop or a committee of clergy, who ordains them.
To push socialism into the churches, it is only necessary to lean on the clergy, not convince the laity. If the laity leave, and the money dries up, the clergy just shorten front, see which of them gets left without a chair when the music stops — oh well, too bad for them, they were not good enough at barking — and start the music again with fewer congregations. But the money flows. If reduced in amount, too bad, but it still flows.
A little known fact: most if not almost all genuine clergy — aka Christians — today earn their living at a regular, secular job, as Paul did. Few are actual pastors of a congregation — living from the offering plate — and a whole lot do not attend services of worship at a parish church.
No one would lose money today betting that the large majority of pastoral clergy (assigned by their denomination’s governing clerical body to pastor a specific parish church or freewheeling on their own cleverness as a “Man of God”) are charlatans with a gift for gab who are fast-tracked for a hot hole in hell.
MITM to David R. Graham
The funny thing is that I tried to guard against this, by choosing an independent Christian church governed only by a board of local lay member elders – no bishop etc. anywhere around.
That failed because our pastor is too easily impressed by the popular kids among pastors, and those have all been “woke” this past year.
David R. Graham to MITM
Yup, it is disheartening. On the other hand, it presents opportunities. Bonhoeffer famously pondered religionless Christianity, or, what comes to the same thing, unchurched churches. There are ways to do it, and that quite satisfactorily. Those ways involve regain of self-confidence by each one of us, based on our unity in God. Self-confidence is godliness. If clergy do not want it, then laity are free to cultivate it in themselves. All the better in the long run.

COVID-19 a Pandemic of Fear ‘Manufactured’ by Authorities: Yale Epidemiologist Dr. Harvey Risch
From the 46 maxims of conduct: If your meditation or prayer isn’t progressing properly or if desires you entertain don’t come to fruition, don’t get dispirited with God. If you do, it will discourage you even more and you’ll lose peace, however small or big, that you may have earned. During meditation and chanting, you should not be dispirited, desperate, or discouraged. When such feelings come, take it that it is the fault of your spiritual exercises, and endeavour to do them correctly. You can easily attain the divine principle only when you automatically behave and act in this manner in your daily conduct and in all actions. Therefore, hold on to these maxims firmly. Chew and digest these spoken sweets, which have been distributed, and be happy!

Donald Trump won the 2020 election for POTUS going away. He is POTUS until 20 January 2025 and presently in exile. That is the truth. Just stick to it and all will be well.
“Just realize they took the two most pathetic candidates in the history of the Democratic Party: a vice president who didn’t even win a primary in her own state; and a demented pervert, among other things, who can’t even tie his own shoelaces or know where he is. And they crammed them up our nose with a fork of fraud so blatant that it is visible around the world.” Sidney Powell, April 2021
