Countrymen,

I have discussed the nature and effects of ideology before now.  Because the recent USA national election is — primarily, I think — a case study in that nature and its effects, a little AAR on the subject is indicated.

Ideology produces stupidity.  It inhibits the work of eyes, it obstructs the work of hands and it frustrates the work of intellect.  An ideology is a finite set of a priori demands upon the functionality, the operations, and the outcomes of natural processes.  It is a claim of sovereignty over, as its advocates proclaim, the arc of history.  Ideology is the psycho-stochastic structure of the hubristic concupiscent.  The truly stupid.

There is only one ideology, ever.  Ideologues ever claim novelty for theirs, but there is no such.  The essential nature of any ideology is the same as that of any other.  Advocates and minions of all ideologies juice themselves with a vision of (1) changing the course of history, or, (2) watching history move inexorably to favor their control of it.  All have irrefragable confidence in their moral superiority and irresistible march towards dictating the course of civilization and the conditions under which common men and women must live, work and pay, in gratitude, tribute (taxes or graft) to their betters.

Ideology advocates are not a novelty.  They sprout like weeds pretty much any where, any time.  For this reason monastics caution themselves, during Compline, in the words of 1 Peter 5:8: Brethren, be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, who resist steadfast in the faith.

The recent USA national election occasioned the destruction of a particularly nasty and seemingly indomitable ideology — they all feel and look that way from a position underneath them — which, like any other, bore a salient feature of ideologies: an aptitude for religious fanaticism.

Now, fanatics are not nice people.  They do things to hurt other creatures, deliberately and non-deliberately.  They want other creatures under their thumb.  They have no interest in rearing children, or loving a spouse — which is why they constantly preach those virtues … for others to practice.

Example of ideologues/fanatics hurting creatures:

The Fraud makes nice with the ayatollahs.  The ayatollahs make nice with AQ.  And The Fraud says he is against AQ … ?  Those are crossed, uninsulated live wires.  Where they are arcing is named Syria and Northern Iraq.

Al Saud, Qatar and the Moslem Brotherhood fund and embody the Salafist Jihad in Syria, Northern Iraq and North, East and West Africa, plus elsewhere.  The Fraud, through the CIA and CAIR, makes nice with some, He says, of the kinetic elements of the Salafist Jihad … in order to depose, He says, a minion of the ayatollahs … ?  Sending yet more juice down the crossed, uninsulated wires.

And murdering Qaddafi helped who, besides the Moslem Brotherhood?  Or OBL, for that matter?  Qaddafi was an obstacle to the Brotherhood.  OBL was their competitor for leadership of the Salafist Jihad.  And the ayatollahs worked with OBL while also supporting the Brotherhood’s Morsi?  And now the Brotherhood’s Erdogan AND the Brotherhood’s allied ayatollahs want to annex parts of Syria and Iraq to their domains.  They, too, have their own crossed, uninsulated live wires arcing, do they not?  And in the same place: Syria and Northern Iraq.

There is a relatively easy and strategically inviting way to stop the arcing.  Ask the Hashemites how much of the Arabian Peninsula south of Iraq they would like under their stewardship and gift it to them.  That, also, would counsel the ayatollahs to zip up their flies.  Dharma supports those who support Dharma.

As power is the medicament for politics, theology is the medicament for ideology.  The just man lives by a full-personality stochastic structure, a New Being, gifted him by God.  The ideologue lives by a psycho-stochastic structure he makes up himself or, more commonly, that is drilled into him by indoctrinators (brainwashers) posing as parents and teachers.

Theologues yearn for facts, having no a prioris save one: whatever happens, and in all circumstances, strict adherence to facts rather than preconceptions, visions or plans, will see them through whatever conditions they meet in life.  Theologues study what is right and what is wrong — which is to say, what is factual and what is not — and essay to decide in favor of the former and execute accordingly.  Theologues’ one goal in life is to maintain their consciousness bound to the truth: Duty is God — Work is Worship.

My comment:

It is ideology.  More than hatred, fear, anger, etc., it is ideology.  The biblical term for that weakness is idolatry, taking something that is not ultimate as ultimate.  A person who is a genuine vehicle of power can be recognized by the characteristics of truth, kindness, love, patience, forbearance, and gratefulness.  Wherever these reside, ideology, like ego, cannot go; it has no place.  Elijah on Carmel facing the Priests of Baal is an image increasingly impressing itself on my mind as a fruitful template for grasping what is going on in our sometimes seemingly chaotic country.
