The Coloring Books Of Adwaitha Hermitage are ur-iconography for The Sai (Mother) Era.
The Coloring Books from Adwaitha Hermitage began as pictures Mary drew for the children to color. These were duly dolled up, displayed on the wall or refrigerator and then tossed out.
However, Mary is an artist and the children, from early years, did extraordinary work. So we decided to archive Mary’s originals and let the children color photocopies of these. This procedure had a number of benefits. Favorite drawing could be re-colored by one artist or colored by another at any time. And, over time, collections of Mary’s work could be shared with other parents and their children. That is the background of the Coloring Books available here.
Eventually, all of us were coloring Mary’s drawings and, from time to time, each of us still does. They are that much fun. Worthy finished paintings we laminate and keep for sharing electronically or as slides.
