US salients (bases) west of San Francisco and east of New York are avenues of attack along which enemies have, can, and will again attack. The salients project weakness, not strength. This is especially recognizable in East Eurasia (China, Korea, Japan) and Southwest Eurasia (Middle East).
The USA have no reasons for active or potentially active regular military operations beyond the shores of her constituent states. Modern weaponry dictate this realization. Homeland defense is the sole required US Military TOE, to include a small, swift, decisive QRF useful for very brief overseas punitive operations as needed.

American and some other nations’ military TOEs assume that The USA must be ready and able to sustain prolonged warfare overseas from The USA homeland. Whether on two fronts — across Atlantic and Pacific — or one is debated. But that America must war at length overseas is assumed without scrutiny.
The assumption of that assumption — endless foreign fighting, always for Good Cause USA — is that The USA have an excess of excellence and therefore authority over the nations, implying, The USA have responsibility to protect the nations as well as prerogative to compel their obedience.
An assumption of those assumptions is that officials of The USA, elected or appointed, are entitled and able to determine, on the evidence of their titles, what is and is not the will of The USA regarding any matter whatsoever and to enforce that determination on their countrymen and other nations willy-nilly.
Current USA military TOEs respond to that collection of assumptions. The TOEs are downstream from the assumptions.
Not one of those assumptions is valid. Not one is consistent with reality. Therefore, everything downstream from those assumptions is a breached hull, water pollution, not a capability. Current USA military TOEs cannot accomplish a mission handed them.
Evidence of that fact is ongoing, and everyone see it.
Moreover, except for punitive operations limited in time and space, USA TOEs have not produced a mission accomplished since Vietnam.
Now, The USA are a nation among other nations, all equally close to God Almighty, all equally loved by Him, each an embodiment of sovereign political, moral, and religious freedom, and each bearing responsibility to respect the sovereignties of all the others.
USA military TOEs built on these assumptions will meet with success in peace and war because these assumptions are consistent with reality.
Anyway, who will fight to protect a country prowled by packs of randy nancy boys, girlie men, and beta males?
Five components, at least, comprise the toxic mixture of conceit poisoning American life today and, in consequence, the life of other nations. These are:
- Malice
- Ignorance
- Incompetence
- Laziness
- Stupidity
These poisons are by-products of the spiritual disease of conceit:
- The USA are an exceptional nation.
- We are a beacon to the world for all to admire.
- We serve as a light to the nations.
- We are the greatest nation ever.
- America has the finest fighting force in history.
These diseases and the poisons they emit are beyond the powers of political, economic, and military measures to effect ameliorations or cures. Once they circulate effectively inside a nation’s life, as today they do in The USA, spiritual exercise is the only way to cure the disease and excrete the poisons it injects into the nation’s life-support systems.
Moreover, the mixture of five poisons must be expelled altogether as one, not component by component. Try to do it one by one and the others will bring in their disappearing partner through their backdoors. The mixture has to leave at once, following the disease out of the system, or it won’t leave.
It’s not that hard. Be kind. Be polite. Be respectful. Be cheerful. Honor your ancestors. Be loyal to your spouse and children. Revere your country and countrymen. Find and fix your own faults, not others’. Learn constantly without ceasing. Keep God forever in the front of your mind. Eschew both happiness and sorrow. Run from praise and blame in equal measure and speed.
This is how a person and a nation earn the Grace of God. Then He cures the disease and expels the toxic mixture of poisons from the midst. And for Heaven’s sake, when you have the chance, light a candle for the archbishop.
Human artifacts are built to work properly. They are built to serve the needs of men and nations for quiet and contentment. Let no one believe that artifacts have to be destroyed in order to build back better.
Whatever it is, it was built right in the first place, or as best was then possible. There is no need to dump an artifact unless it cannot serve its purpose, which happens to artifacts. In the latter case, everyone using the artifact must agree to its replacement.
