Dr. Harry Emerson Fosdick, a fellow Union man, he of the Class of 1904, Union Professor of Homiletics, and founding Pastor of The Riverside Church, which was raised by John D. Rockefeller II as a pulpit for Fosdick, and where Virgil Fox held forth as Organist.
With an orbit of that pedigree, one might think CFR would not host appalling discussions such as this moral and intellectual cyanide:

This is where CIA are today. They believe they can do anything they want, anywhere they want, any time they want to do it. In former times, persons who came to such conclusions about themselves and their place in the world were invited or compelled to reside in a home operated to keep them away from normal people and their groups.
Were I a professor of theology, military science, European history, logic, linguistics, or political philosophy — and as an intellectual exercise, not in any way to treat this CFR discussion as worthy of attention much less understanding — I would assign my students to report it out for unexamined assumptions, logical fallacies, and tables of authority which would either justify or preclude its even occurring. A student who came forth with fewer than ten items would fail the exercise.
I would accept as a doctoral student one who essayed to take this CFR discussion as negative incentive to propose re-founding the architecture of American statecraft in the bosom of reason, consistency, fact-facing, courtesy, and plain speaking.

All nations would benefit from civilizational attitudes running along the those lines — those mentioned by Medvedev — and backed by laws. In USA specifically, that plus serious use of law to clean drugs and their addicts out of cities and towns, consign them to desert camps where they can dry out or overdose and send there also lawyers, judges, police, mayors, council members, county executives, CEOs, legislators, and prosecutors who supply and protect them.
When people get serious about living in a pretty place, they have all sorts of ways to make that happen.
A major detail I have missed: the Nuremberg procedures did not condemn Nazism per se, the state-of-mind itself, or the Nazi German state, only a few individual Nazis — over Soviet objection that the ideology and the state must be condemned. The game now is The King Of Battle — Artillery — and Electronic Warfare (EW). The King Of Battle does not operate absent The Queen Of Battle — Infantry.
The Big Game now is Net-Centric Combined Force, what I call Penta-Force (Space, Air, Cyber [Word], Sea, Land — Ether, Air, Fire, Water, Earth).
At this, today, Russians have no peer.
Penta-Force / Joint Force
Each component of the Penta-Force — Space, Air, Cyber, Sea, Land — requires two Level Three professional academies, one to make E-7 NCOs, one to make O-1 Officers.
Each academy teaches the primacy, in every military action, of combined arms operations in the net-centric, multi-domain battlespace. Each academy teaches to the Penta-Force model of war-fighting. The five components of net-centric Penta-Force operate in unison or they do not take the field.
This is bedrock of modern military doctrine. Any formation operating without a Penta-Force component self-exposes to annihilation by attack through the gap made by the absence of that component.
