Glenn Reynolds links today to report of another in a long string of student groups raised by CIA / KGB / CPUSA / CCP to siphon off energy and intelligence from Americans’ efforts to un-corrupt their governments. Glenn inquires after CCP funding, and a commenter, doug43, replied in a manner I thought intelligent and thus itself worthy of my comment. As follows:

Can’t blame China for our weakness and intellectual decay. It’s just waiting and waiting and waiting. It might well add a push to the process here and there but the process would be the same if China did nothing at all. China’s not the problem here and what is the problem is harder to fix or even confront than anything China is doing.

True. I was thinking today, whoever identifies as Our Democracy, a Current or a Former Government Official, or a Democrat certainly has gone out of their way to deserve Americans’ inner Genghis Khan getting thrown right into them. The certainty of that happening now is on everyone’s mind. Strength is reacquired and intellect burnished by taking out the garbage, so to speak, not by acquiring something new or different. There is no new, there is no different. Strength and intelligence are man’s innate nature. If he lose them, he is unnatural and betraying himself.
Mountains of Acts, legions of alphabet soup agencies, and swarms of non-profit and for-profit corporations are in line for a sound sacking. That, I submit, is how to terrify the ChiComs and force them to recalculate their trumps. Consider how much POTUS Trump has done in this regard with very little means. Even a molecule of will to win brings strength rushing home and intelligence repositioning itself to the flanks of the marches, where it belongs. Take one step towards God, He takes ten steps towards one.
Men, women, and nations are always at war. It cannot be otherwise. The point is to win the wars one fights in. The wars themselves cannot be avoided. They should not be avoided. Winning the wars is the goal, legitimate and worthy. Without war, without struggle and conflict, there would be no progress, no feeling of accomplishment and nobility, no love for What next?. War is the very essence of existence. There are no civilians. Americans hate the thought of losing a war, as experience lately demonstrates, again. Americans did not invite an enemy to overrun twenty years of their hard labor and Kabul.
Glenn Beaton writes in honor of Christmastide: I tell you the truth, Jesus is not our mom. I commented:
That is worthy of estimation as by a Doctor of The Church! I do not exaggerate. Correlating Infinity with finitude, the great paradox of life and existence generally. A great accomplishment.
Two fill-ins:
1- ” A reader of the Gospels is left wondering whether he himself wasn’t sure till the end.” A keen, brilliant insight, and accurate. ust before the end, actually. First he was self-aware as a Messenger of God (Prophet, Son of Man). Then he was self-aware as the Son of God (Christ). Finally he was self-aware as One with God (Who sees me sees the Father, “sees” being internal, direct experience). The Gospel texts record this evolution of self-awareness. They do not record his locations or ages when these evolutions transpired, except in re the first one: at the synagogue in Nazareth, at the start of his ministry, when he was already around age thirty. His 18 years between his age 12 and age 30 are not addressed in the New Testament, and I’ll leave it at that.
The second two moments of his self-awareness could have occurred during his brief ministry in Judea and Samaria or during that 18-year hiatus in the NT narrative (kerygma), which, BTW, is soteriological, not historiographical.
His role and mission were present from the start (Conception), but his realizing them emerged over time through experience and in stages moving from separation (Prophet) to conditioned identity (Son) to complete identity with God (One). This staging of self-awareness is a very human phenomenon any one of us can attest occurring in our own lives, although few of us realize (direct experience) that our true identity is as one with the Father, although it is.
2- He was poor worldly-wise all his life, but he was high-born socially, House of King David, its then-senior claimant in fact, which explains his familiarity and easy concourse with residents of Bethany, First Century Jerusalem’s Pacific Heights (San Francisco), Upper East Side (Manhattan), Bel Air/ Brentwood (Los Angeles), Hamptons, (Long Island), Aspen (Colorado) ( 🙂 ), etc.
Finally, The Lion of Judah, as pictured, is redolent of high-minded character. Augustine famously observed (paraphrasing), Truth is a Lion. Let it loose. It can take care of itself.
Principle I
Principle II
Principle III
God takes upon Himself the pain and sorrow of the world, in order to prepare the hearts of men for Love! This day marks the beginning of the Christian Era, the year of Christ. Christ sacrificed His life for the sake of those who put their faith in Him. He propagated the truth that service is God, that sacrifice is God. Even if you falter in the adoration of God, don’t falter in the service of living Gods, who assume human shape and are moving all around you in large numbers, wearing manifold costumes of apparel and speech! Only those who can pour out compassion to fellowmen can claim a place in the Grace of God. This is also the highest spiritual discipline; it impresses on you, unity of humanity and glory of God’s immanence. May this discipline of Seva taken up with genuine delight spread all over, and may this land be happy and prosperous. May the world have peace and happiness, and loving trust. That is My blessing.
