There is not even a Democratic Party. There is a single (UniParty) criminal conspiracy comprising political careerist and minions, aka grifters, to include the judiciary. In 1994, I co-led a series of meetings comprising homeschoolers, K-12 teachers, and K-12 Administrators looking at exactly this scenario for Washington State’s K-12 system. We succeeded in making that scenario an option for districts to add to their ordinary offerings. Some implemented the option, in their own ways, of course.

The overall point was that homeschoolers were pathfinding educationally and economically and that districts could and should participate in the effort. We called the concept Customized Optional Program of Education (C.O.P.E.). I was secretary to the meetings and kept our summaries and reports.

In November 1994, our elder son created the WWW’s first Homeschooling Homepage, using linky-love for curriculum steerage and exploration, exactly as now is natural to virtually the entire humankind. It began and remains non-commercial.

There is no reason K-12 education also is not moving to money-wise, low-cost operation online and off, exactly as post-secondary is doing. (Nothing is free.) We all are de-industrializing the education of persons young and old.

So what do you do when ordinary people stop believing in god on their own initiative, and not because of central planning by intellectuals, educators or government bureaucrats? Atheism seems to give Christians the creeps because it shows an implicit arrow of time, from nearly nonexistent atheists in the past, to numerous atheists now, to possibly universal atheists in the future.

I tell atheists to grasp atheism just as hard and as fast as they can. That is what I do. Denial is a form of affirmation. Some atheists get that after a while, some not. Either way, not my business, and neither does it change the facts. Atheism is theism upside down and backwards. It’s a trip some want to take. That’s fine with me. For their sake, I hope they get to their destination sooner than later, but again, that’s not my business, whether they do or do not. Have at it.

Ordinary people stop believing in God — actually, think they have done that — most commonly because their parents, teachers, and especially clergy do not believe in God. Most clergy today, of any religion, do not believe in God. Many want to believe but have no experience of God past wanting His comfort. Their messages/sermons are sentimental stand-up routines that never vary. They are as dry bones as the ones listening to them in hopes of being vivified.

Additionally, God makes people atheists upon occasion more common than might be expected. It’s a soteriological tactic the reasons for which are hidden to our ken but are known to occur. So when you see / hear an atheist, assume not that they have come to their estate of their own accord. Another reason for not wanting to help them out of it: who better knows than God what is happening?

Unrestricted free speech makes it practically impossible for any society to protect itself from just the kind of intellectual subversion that we have experienced in the last 100 years. It was started and originally funded by the Soviet Union as a deliberate tactic of undeclared war, but the movement learned to find its own sources of money so it has become an independent and unchained monster.

The only way to prevent this kind of attack in a free Republic is by restricting free speech in some way, but in what ways would that be acceptable? Here are a few possibilities:

1. 1. If you refuse to say the pledge of allegiance or honor the flag, or if you scorn and belittle the flag (or burn it), you lose your citizenship and are exiled.  Contempt for the symbols of America is a pretty reliable indicator of not being a loyal American.
   2. If you persistently discuss America, America’s history, or America’s heroes in a negative way without relevant context (for example, harping on American slavery without mentioning slavery in the rest of the world, or harping on the subjugation of the Indians without mentioning other conquests in history), then you lose your citizenship and are exiled.
   3. Books, videos, and other information sources that discuss America, America’s history, or America’s heroes in a negative way without relevant context must have warning labels attached saying so.

It is easy to see how these restrictions could be abused, but any laws can be abused. For example, laws against murder can (and have been) abused by governments by calling self-defense murder, but we don’t want laws against murder to be unconstitutional.

I think proper parenting would do the trick. If one must resort to law to make peace in a society, one has no society wanting peace. Love, not law, is the only effective pacifier on wildness of the mind and vagary of the impulses. The Apostle Paul laid out this fact in crystal clarity, and our Framers applied its implications in justifying and constructing our Constitution.

This post of Glenn’s and its commenters are unusually compelling and, I think, prophetic. I sense a preference cascade regarding schools up and down the line. It seems to me an appreciation of words has crept back into discourse, a recognition that words really do have content and specificity, and force and power, and both can and should be deployed carefully to a good purpose. I rejoice over that.

A post on something near and dear to countrymen, commented upon and among by persons of capably earnest bearing, is a proper school in itself.

Well said. Paul Tillich noticed this after he emigrated here and attributed it to a fundamental difference in general outlook on life. Europeans, he said, see the world ad pejorem whereas Americans see the world ad meliorem. He states that he prefers the latter.

We have one party now and it has an American political base, is an American sinew, has an American sense of humor — the follow-on to the TEA Party movement, whatever one wishes to name it. It is decisively huge, and actually that is not good for us.

We are a two-party political system — life is a two-party system — which keeps everyone trending towards honesty and creativity in domestic and foreign affairs. By uniting back around 1965, thinking they could ignore thereby their political base — Americans — Ds and Rs, the NGO cloud comprising the likes of Ford, Brookings, Rockefeller, Carnegie in their van, set themselves to operate without a political base.

That arrogant overreach was — can only be — a losing proposition. Give yourself a break, Glenn, you were not the one who went rogue and made yourself disgustingly filthy in consequence of that choice.

Born in society, brought up in society, educated by society and deriving countless benefits from society, what are you doing for society? Social service should be regarded as an expression of gratitude to society for what it has done to us. Without society we cannot survive. Women should treat even their daily chores as a form of concentrated work. If they are unable to attend a satsang (spiritual congregation) on account of household duties, they should not feel miserable on that account. Discharge of duties at home is as sacred as attending a satsang. Only if you do your duties at home properly will you be able to render proper service outside. In whatever work you do at home, whether sweeping the floor or making chapatis (Indian flatbread), convert it into a form of spiritual exercise. Infuse every action with love of the Divine and dedicate it to God.
