A long view, maybe inaccurate, maybe not:
Democrats, CIA/IC/FPE (aka deep state), media, and their authors, the professoriate, threw in with The Moslem Brotherhood, starting about, say, fifty years ago and completing by 2016.
Americans fought Communists to a stand-still at least and know how to handle Communists, including the Chinese variety. Yes, we have Communists still barking at us, troublemaking, but they do not confuse us. They are not rampant.
The Ikhwan, however, does confuse us, at least a large lot us of, and is rampant here and abroad. They have gotten farther inside our government and other institutions than Communists ever did, deconstructing Americans and America, conjuring confusion within us. Mere Communists could not make Democrats, etc. as insensate and unAmerican as they now present. Only an unrecognized enemy, and one Americans have not learned how to defeat (yet), could do that.
There is not another force in view, other than The Ikhwan, capable of wreaking such confusion among Americans as is observed. So they are the culprit. And The Moslem Brotherhood/Ikhwan is a major but only one facet of the Salafi/Shiite Jihad. Americans must recognize this enemy as both foreign and domestic and learn to defeat it in situ.
The Salafi/Shiite Jihad is not a religion. Its leaders neither deserve nor enjoy the sanctity of sanctuary. They are enemy combatants who must be treated as such in traditional terms.
The Deep State and The Moslem Brotherhood are co-terminus. They are the rules-based international order / rules-based global system. They are the global governance. And those phrases are propaganda prescribing supreme confusion for Americans and supreme domination for Mullahs.

At the appointed time, necessities become ripe. That is the time when the Creative Spirit (which one can also designate as the Abstract Spirit) finds an avenue to the soul, later to other souls, and causes a yearning, an inner urge.

From this moment on, consciously or unconsciously, the human being seeks to find a material form for the new value, which already lives within him in spiritual form.
In this process, the spiritual value, searching for a form of materialization, finds matter. Matter is merely a storeroom. It is from this storeroom, that the spirit chooses what is specifically necessary for it to reveal itself — just as a cook chooses what he needs from a pantry.

Update 1: In Fisher Ames’ day, progressive meant Unitarian-or Quaker-inspired, either one or both. Those sententious faux-Christians inspire still policy and postures preferred and promoted by contemporary progressives transgressives, with a twist: another, more numerous and definitely less sagacious sententious actor has commandeered their wheelhouse: the Salafi/ShiiteJihad in the form of The Moslem Brotherhood.
