Every so often, one comes upon a creature, human or otherwise, in whom one sees pure joy or pure sadness in being alive. It is not often. I suppose in some cases one is so thamasic as to not recognize when that happens. It is my experience, however, that at least many people are able to recognize pure joy or pure sadness even if only unconsciously. Either one, pure joy or pure sadness, is extremely attractive. They pull one in towards themselves.
Demonic personalities — those whose ultimate concern is less than ultimate — are drawn to pure joy and pure sadness as much as normal personalities are. They despise either one and both, but they are drawn to them because the powers of pure joy and pure sadness each exceeds the powers of the demonic. In the presence of pure joy or pure sadness, the demonic cannot muster inattention. The Devil hates God because God compels his heed. It is called dependence.
I would like to illustrate the pure joy of being alive by mentioning two composers and two film makers. The composers are George Gershwin and Johnann Sebastian Bach. The film makers are Blake Edwards and Stanley Donen.

Pure joy and pure sadness in being alive exhibit Godliness. This is why we love them so. This is why demonic personalities hate them so. Americans POTUS and FLOTUS Trump, together and each in themselves, exhibit the pure joy and the pure sadness of being alive. He is a man. She is a woman. That is why they are loved by normal persons and hated by demonic ones.
