Sometimes men cut themselves off, at least notionally, from the six inches of topsoil on which their lives and livelihoods depend absolutely. It is a way of falling … upward, so to speak. Getting above one’s hat, as it has been called.
We are familiar with men falling downward, but falling upward, less so. Falling downward — such as the Biblical doctrine of The Fall — has the tinge of inevitability about it, a tragedy. Falling upward looks more like a deliberate if stupid choice, an arrogation, the which to Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides is a special species of tragedy. It is in fact a hubris, which is more lethal than arrogance.
Arrogance is a mistake in comparisons, a mistake that that can be corrected. Hubris is putting oneself in the place of God, an existential Deicide, which is to say, a suicide.
The top-tier public servants of the US so-called Intelligence Community, Executive Branch in general, Legislative Branch, much of the Judicial Branch and financial and manufacturing cohorts have had a political agenda that most Americans have not seen, until lately. These reachers essay to rule the world — The New World Order — through an array of unelected, unaccountable wise guys, aka, variously, Deep State, Administrative State, Permanent Bureaucracy.
Said public servants — who claim always to know what is best for America and who Americans are and should be — are anti-American, anti-US Constitution, anti-freedom for the generality and self-governance.
Candidate and then POTUS Trump has exposed them, and others have taken courage since he did so and thrown their energy, treasure and sacred honor into further exposing and then exiling these poor dumb hubristic bastards.
Their crime — deeper than laws can reach — is imagining themselves transcending their national roots and manipulating populations they make myopic and docile by flooding their neighborhoods with disinformation and psychotropic drugs into further transferring wealth to them, the 1% of the world’s personalities who own nearing 66% of the world’s wealth.
They fell upwards. They got above themselves. And many of them continue thinking they can maintain position, above the Logos of Being, superior to it, beyond Reason and its Daughter, Responsibility. I am God, obey me, they say.
Speaking in West Palm Beach, Florida on 13 October 2016, Candidate Trump made these points:

Workers in the United States, were making less than they were almost 20 years ago – and yet they are working harder.
It’s a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth, and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities.
[…] This is a struggle for the survival of our nation. This election will determine whether we are a free nation, or whether we have only the illusion of Democracy but are in fact controlled by a small handful of global special interests rigging the system.
This is not just conspiracy but reality, and you and I know it.
[…] They control the Department of Justice, and they even clandestinely meet with the Attorney General of the United States – in the back of her airplane, while on the runway – for 39 minutes – to most likely discuss her reappointment in a Clinton Administration just prior to the Attorney General making a decision over whether or not to prosecute Hillary Clinton.
Likewise, they have corrupted the Director of the FBI to the point at which stories are already saying the great men and women who work for the FBI are embarrassed and ashamed to what he’s done to one of our great institutions. Hillary Clinton is guilty of all of the things that Director Comey stated at his press conference and Congressional hearings, and far more – and yet he let her off the hook, while others lives are being destroyed for far less.
This is a conspiracy against you, the American people.
At the center of the hubris Americans voted for Donald Trump to remove from their self-government are two personalities: John Brennan and The Fraud who styles himself Obama. Both are owned by the Moslem Brotherhood.
The Clintons are a known crime syndicate. Washed up but still dangerous, especially to former supporters thinking of jumping ship. The ducking, dancing and jabbing visible now by the likes of Brennan, Obamas, Mueller, McCabe, Comey, Rice is hay-maker avoidance. It will not work. They will receive the blow, and more after it.

Sure, George, and then you went to war and got nothing for it, less than nothing, but your allies the Kurds got gassed. And your son followed suit and got nothing for it — such as 10% of Iraqi oil revenue per year until it pays the cost of liberating Iraqis — and his successor dreary-talked incessantly in support of your rules-based international order while turning North Africa, The Levant and Europe into hellholes, Russia into an enemy, America’s cities, moral standards and education system into chaos and America’s western defense littoral into highways for aggressors moving eastward towards us. George, you did shape the future for generations to come alright. I give you that. But it was also for you and your foreign and domestic cronies, not for Americans and America. And short-sighted for you and your cronies even at that. You fell upward. So did your son.
The fall of The World Trade Center was the fall of The New World Order.
The World Trade Center WAS The New World Order. Surber implies POTUS Trump marks the fall of TNWO, or at least proof of the pudding that it has fallen. I give Don that POTUS Trump’s electoral and subsequent victories — and counterattacks against him — are compelling evidence of the fall of TNWO. However, I think the most vivid evidence for that phenomenon’s reality is the famous picture of the Falling Man.
TNWO was elitists’ falling upward that obliged Americans to fall downward.
The Falling Man picture says it all and with the power of a Bach Fugue.
I lived in Manhattan, on Morningside Heights, when the World Trade Center (WTC) was in plans and permitting stages. Second half of the 1960s. It engendered strong opposition. That included mine, although not public. Points made by the opposition included:
1- It would obliterate an old and stable neighborhood.
2- It would attract even more moneyed interests, including those with no interest in Americans or America, to Manhattan.
3- It would help drive reasonably-priced housing out of the borough.
4- Its promoters had an aura of menacing arrogance.
5- The structures themselves and the promotion lauding them were just too high, indicating a spiritual incontinence that was deeply felt as anti-human and irrational. I felt the irrational bit most deeply.
Feelings ran strongly, my own included. No one that I recall questioned that the engineering prowess required to fabricate and maintain the towers existed or could be created and could be applied successfully. In fact, a West Pointer oversaw the fabrication and to the best of my knowledge the towers were an engineering triumph, as the saying goes.
But they just were not right. Their very purpose was not right. Their purpose was to house persons and corporations whose purpose was to fundamentally transform America into an oligarchs’ fiefdom and Americans into, let us be honest, slave labor. It was an anti-American project from purpose to product.
The oligarchs demanding the WTC were both foreign and domestic, and to them, those adjectives were meaningless. They already had expunged the reality of nation states from their vocabulary and visions.
My family and I were at the Windows on the World restaurant in May 2001. Vividly I recall looking down out a huge window there onto roofs, streets, vehicles and people … and observing a helicopter many floors beneath me sauntering along on its operator’s business. I wondered if the building could withstand the storms that frequent the Hudson River and Manhattan. Must be, I thought, because it abides. That impressed me. American engineering. Yeah!
But the helicopter gave me pause. So far below me. An aircraft could ram this building with ease, I thought as I watched the flyby.
We took lunch at Windows on the World, but I was uncomfortable throughout and grateful when we exited the building and Manhattan. It is a small town. The smallest town in which I have lived. Everyone — almost — thinks alike and wants to look and sound alike. That makes it small. Very small.
My mother called on Tuesday 11 September 2001. For years we hardly spoke. She is now deceased. She told me to stay on the line and turn on the news. She then told me the news. Grasping the situation in an instant, I yelled at her that her politics is what made this happen: Democrats’ sententious spite for Americans and subversion of their institutions. She did not hear me, or at least did not indicate that she did. She said it was a terrible shock, a surprise. I said it was not at all, it was unsurprising and predictable.
I did not mention to her, but have to others since, that the week before, while driving a Metro bus across the SR 520 bridge towards Seattle, I saw in my mind’s eye the then-named Bank of America Tower, highest in Seattle, proverbially visible for miles around, smitten by a large aircraft. The actual scene was an airliner on standard glide path into SeaTac International Airport, taking it over the Seattle CBD, which includes the then-named Bank of America Tower. When I saw the news on Tuesday, 11 September 2001, I thought, Yup, that is what I saw in my mind’s eye last week. And I thought, Should I have said something then? And I thought, What would I have said? I had a vision?
