As is known, ISIL/ISIS is an element of the Salafi Jihad, which descends from Saudi Wahhabism, which descends from Asharite Islam, which overwhelmed Mutazilite Islam, at least in numbers and general awareness, centuries ago.  The word Salafi means Pure.

My purpose is to invite attention to a significant parallelism.  In Christian history we have two movements calling themselves Pure: Cathars and Puritans.  Cathar from the same root as cathartic, meaning, clean, without stain of sin, pure.  Puritan from the same root as pure, meaning clean, blameless.

Christianity came to life against the background of a Jewish puritanical movement called Pharisee.  The word means set apart to be pure, God’s clean and special own, in contrast to the mass of people, including mere Jews.

The USA’s leftie cohort is often described as puritanical and describes itself as blameless, clear, pure.  The demographic base of the USA’s leftie cohort?  New England Puritans, the white people lefties claim to hate.  Source of the two original Great Awakenings?  New England Puritans and, later, an English Methodist, Methodists being Anglican successors to Anglican Puritans.

Who USA lefties are most like now, today, are the French Cathars, all things French (except the Church) being their “Oh, joy. Oh, wonder!”  As Cathars did, they have their rituals and secured fortresses, they treat of no one beyond each other, feeling justified, to keep themselves free of pollution by the common herd.  True Pharisees, Cathars, Puritans, Salafis.

Of course they are going to cover for each other.  They must maintain their purity, in their own eyes and especially in the eyes of the impure, the filthy, the deplorable, the self-degraded.  Pharisees, Cathars, Puritans, Salafis, same personalities, different names, different times.

It also makes sense that wherever the pure ones go, they shift everyone else away and out … because they are impure.  And they kill anyone who disagrees with them or finds fault with them … because they are dirty, filth.  The pure ghettoize themselves but also insist on expanding the perimeter of their lebensraum.  Paris, London, New York, Manchester, Miami, Nice, Twin Cities, Dearborn, Detroit, Barcelona, Boston are cities out and away from which Salafis are shifting everyone not their own.  There their lebensraum expansions are patently remarkable.

The Pure Ones : Human History’s Kudzu

The root of all this?  Theological: improper grasp of the phenomenology of sin [kudzu] and therefore improper doctrine regarding it.  He who has lost the habit of penitence has lost the habiliment of manhood.

Let it be noted that history affords one course of action only in regard to treating a mass pretense of purity: The Army of Titus.

During the Second, which included the abolition and temperance movements.  The regular preachers then had lost their way in Deism, which yields satisfaction akin to that from loving a rock, so irregular preachers, the self-appointed, went on binge condemnations using sketchy sources and easy targets, rather like certain USA prosecutors of late are doing.  From those irregulars we got John Brown, Joseph Smith and, later, Carrie Nation.

Not coincidental, I think, it is that lefties use the word woke to describe themselves and their mission, such as they feel there is one.  As in awakened.  I wonder who started the woke usage.  If patterns hold, it is someone living on a bank of the Charles River.

The truly great preacher of the First [and really only-legitimately called] American Great Awakening was, of course, Jonathan Edwards, the great trans-Puritan Puritan Divine.  Lefties stop their ears where Edwards is concerned.  They will listen or wake to the truth Edwards preached never.

Update 1: Today, every problem, every struggle, every difficulty the USA faces had its origin on a bank of the Charles River.

But one would misread Marx if one concluded that he had a stealth plan to put a corrupt oligarchy in power.  He wanted to liberate, not enslave, the working classes.  He was simply mistaken about the consequences of his philosophy.

Update 4: Martin Karo: I think the public simply doesn’t understand the purpose of Obama’s diversity program.  If we are to have a fair cross-section of the world within our borders, we are going to have to admit a fair number of terrorists.  White males have ruled the roost for too long.  Speak, hands, for me! and all that.  Obama believed it time we gave neck-choppers and bomb-blasters an effective voice in American culture, and his deeds match his philosophy.  If the currency says In God We Trust, certainly Allahu Akbar! is entitled to as much circulation.

Update 5: D and R, at least in D.C., are the same party now and for some time, just different faces of it, a Janus Corporation, so to speak.  If something is amiss and needful there and around the country, that would be a second party.  Essentially that is what PDJT brought into the city, although it is not spoken of that way.  Were it, I think phenomenological and kinetic clarity would ensue.  And a sense of relief and freedom.

Update 9: Globalists from patriotic states are going to be thrown out of office.  If that admits a globalist from another party to office, fine.  Price of war.  The electorate in all states is patriotic and therefore anti-globalist and will find a way to make their patriotic wishes effective in D.C.

GOP candidates should hike up their skirts, burn their worry beads, pull shoulders back and heads up and preach what POTUS Trump did on the stump.  Courage, not fretting, is indicated.  And perseverance.

Do what is needful and proper and the money will be there.  Dharma protects those who protect Dharma.
