Either way, the NFL is a cash cow. It can afford to respect the right of its players to express their political views, including by kneeling (or whatever) during the National Anthem. It should do so, in my opinion.
So if one can afford to do something, one should so long as one profits from doing it? Reminds me of a conversation with a lady years ago. Many of her relatives, she said, remained in Rhodesia and were businessmen. I asked what businesses they operate. Anything that sells, she said.
DJT was downright emphatic that he had no interest in the presidency per se. He did not need it, he knew it would be constant fireworks, not fun, except that he loves a brawl, but he wanted to do it for his country’s welfare. His interest was MAGA. Patriotism was and remains at the heart of his offer to serve. Americans said, You betcha. Anti-Americans said, Boor!
He said he knows exactly who is debilitating America — he is to the manner born — and why they are doing it, how they plan to keep doing it and how to stop them in their tracks and repair the damage they have already done.
He has named the looters repeatedly: stupid politicians fed by venal lawyers, business executives (including media) and academics. And he named the lethal pressure points, the soft underbellies of said looters: Immigration, Trade and Moslems.
This taking a knee drama is about the Moslem pressure point. They are saying, truthfully, that as Moslems or Moslem sympathizers (as life insurance) they cannot be loyal to the USA. They are right about that. And that, with respect, leaves Paul’s ruminations here adrift somewhere between the devil and the deep blue sea and John’s as parsing sources of wind variation during a hurricane.
Taking a knee is a current USA counterpart to throwing acid in faces, igniting tube bombs or taking road trips over human bodies. It is a national sovereignty challenge and a national security challenge and, yes, if Americans stop pumping hay into the NFL cash cow the NFL cash cow will stop subsidizing sedition. Let the NFL have a knee where it counts. They deserve it.
I left this comment (edited here) at Stella’s Place: This is a Moslem/Moslem Sympathizer (as life insurance) thing, not a race thing, much less a rights thing. The kneelers are right: Moslems/Sympathizers cannot serve two masters, Sharia and the US Constitution. BLM also is a Moslem/Moslem Sympathizer (as life insurance) thing, not a race or rights thing.
Americans are comfortable with multi-racial, multi-religious society. Moslems are uncomfortable with multi-religious society and secular government because Islam is a political system masquerading as a religion, the world’s sole legitimate religion, so they say. Moslems ensure that Moslems and Americans cannot mix.
The kneelers are right. They are the war tocsin warming up to full blast.
I’ll add this: the name CAIR says it all. To Salafi Jihad (Moslem Brotherhood) eyes, America and Islam are independent, sovereign, separate political entities. By Relations CAIR means one sovereign state (USA) with another (Islam). The aim is to fortify Islam in the USA to the point where, as one state to another, it can annihilate the USA and rule the land without internal opposition. Not a very complicated objective or means of accomplishing it, but completely unexpected or terrifying to the point of paralysis by Americans not a few.
This is about the USA Flag and National Anthem only in the sense that they signify the Moslem objective: destroy USA sovereignty and annihilate USA religious, political and social institutions, graving them beneath Islamic institutions. Much less is this about rights of any kind. Far, far beyond disrespect, this kneeling is aggressive skirmishing by political belligerents for a specific cause: Sovereignty of Islam.
The issue is sovereignty, personal and national sovereignty, not race, not rights and not taking a knee. The issue is revolution.
