Interview with General Mazlum Kobane
The Kurds can take care of themselves. USA has made no geo-strategic promises to them. Their taxonomy comprises four parts, one titularly Marxist (Syrian Kurds). Their leaders are welcome at any time to go from warlords to statesmen and sit with the big boys at the table to talk things out. But saying USA must do this or that for them is weak. That will not happen.
USA’s geo-strategic problems in ME are Turkey, Iran and Pakistan, not Kurds. Kurds should be asking USA what they can do to help USA solve those problems she has there.
I suggest to Kurd leaders they call USA and Russian diplomatic, finance and war-fighting senior leadership to request a sit-down to see what can be done in re a sovereign Kurdistan state. It would be not just Kurdish. Kurdish areas now are multi-racial and multi-religious, a true strength of theirs.
Granted new alignments are needed in the ME. But Kurds have to raise themselves to statesmen to make that happen. And offer something rather than ask for something. A sovereign state will not be given to them, nor should it be. They are a competent people. But they have to rise above the warlord mentality to the nation state mentality and think of giving rather than taking.
