Leave The Door To Strategic Unknowns Ajar

Countrymen,

ORBIS NON SUFFICIT
SOLUS DEUS SUFFICIT

If we want to solve a problem that we have never solved before,
we must leave the door to the unknown ajar.
Richard Feynman

Useful thinking on the subject, thanks.  I doubt Putin considers the Ayatollahs an ally, although Russia has ages of interaction with Persians and should be assumed to continue that.  Putin will act in a manner he and his supports consider beneficial for Russia.  POTUS and we should be doing the same for our country, the USA.

As Pompeo said, Russia is in Syria to protect her warm water ports there and to toy with the Americans … though with the American civilian executives in CONUS, not the American combat forces in theatre.  With the latter, Russian counterparts are in cordial, productive and necessary communication and have been for months now.

Long-term, I expect POTUS Trump to:

(1) completely unwind the three witches’ — Power, Rice, Clinton — Responsibility to Protect brew of poisons,

(2) gradually incinerate a century of US foreign policy rising from a pretense of everyone wanting to be like Americans so Americans can force everyone to be that way, and

(3) restore US foreign policy to its pre-Wilson fundamentals: protect the planet’s common areas (seas, air, space) and borders for American character and commerce and be able to demolish any state who wants to argue the point.

Our uniqueness as a nation of freedom of movement and expression is our greatest treasure.  That is our essential character, radically — and thankfully — different from that of any other nation on the planet.  We preserve it, we fight to protect it.  We do not assume everyone applauds it — almost no one else does — we do not assume we should export it — we should not and we have no remit for doing so, not even a religious one — and we do know we have to fight or be willing to fight with overwhelming force at any time or place to guarantee its continuance.

We are not Democrats, Republicans, or Independents anymore.  We are Patriots.

Unfortunately, President Trump has adopted the contrary line of Rex Tillerson and the Obama holdovers.

There is no evidence to support the veracity of that declaration.  And certainly none to support the fear driving it.  Confirmed, and by the same writer, Paul Mirengoff, Attorney.

POTUS Trump has hired good people and does not expect them to agree, to include on strategic matters.  From what I hear, he likes disagreement among advisors.  Disagreement makes good policy if the boss has a hard head, a soft heart and skilled hands, as this one does.  He will decide when he is ready. He has not announced an Iran policy yet, although last week he gave a hint.

Also: Rogin, WaPo?  As sources?  REALLY?

The Ayatollahs want control from Tehran to the Med.  And you think Putin wants them near his naval bases?  Or Turkey wants them on her border, even though Iran and Turkey share, currently, the same concubine: the Moslem Brotherhood?
