I am not aware of an Ivy-level Divinity School or Theological Seminary that is Christian.  None has been for decades.  U Chicago’s may be an exception.  I have not kept up there.

I graduated at one such but refused to participate in the ceremony because I was fed up with the moral preening and intellectual weakness of socialism and was already saying, as I have ever since, that I should have been paid to matriculate there.  That was 48 years ago.  My name was read forth at The Riverside Church and there was no answer.  I had informed no one of my intended absence.

I am sorry for P Griffiths and marvel that a man of his character has been allowed to work at Duke Divin.  He said the right thing in the right way.  I know what he faces now.  I was young and could adapt.  I doubt he has that opportunity.  And the powerskirts at Duke Divin have ensured the sunset of Christian credibility there.  The Polish church had more grit in face of Stalinist murder, torture and re-education.

Anyone else notice that in the great majority of cases like this — and in other institutions as well as schools — females, powerskirts, are making the decisions for totalitarianism?  They ran the previous admin in D.C. from the NSC.

Soldiers say if they are captured by an enemy in MENA they had rather it were men than women because women are far, far more brutal than men are to those in their power.  Men are like Fascists: they just shoot you.  Women are like Communists: they want to get inside your body and mind and enjoy your suffering.

Update 1: A commenter wrote: Granted the professor’s opinion of the proposed training was almost certainly correct, his manner of expressing his opinion could be seen as rough-shod.  I doubt that a liberal would have been called to any account for the same behavior, though.

I replied: Nonsense.  Imagine how Jeremiah or Isaiah would have said it, obscene and vulgar language and all.  You want rough-shod?  I give you Amos!  Or Jerome!

Update 2: Another commenter wrote: Around 1992 a twerp in the English Dept. wrote a letter to the school newspaper demanding that faculty be compelled to attend diversity training sessions.  I took that as a signal to write a letter declaring that I’d sooner take a job cleaning chicken coops than submit to any such training.  Three colleagues supported me publicly   Three dozens expressed various degrees of support more discreetly.

I replied: 1992 is the year diversity training (Stalinist re-education) started sweeping the country.  By 1999 street gangs were forcing women and girls to kiss them and more on public transit waiting platforms and on transit vehicles themselves.  With impunity.  Diversity they call it.  And the women and girls did not complain.

Now diversity/inclusion devotees agonize over finding a difference between diversity and, say, Salafi Jihad.  Their epistemological structure does not provide them that ability.  This is a problem best addressed by shouting louder.

Put lions, gorillas, sheep, snakes, boars and eagles in an enclosed space and someone get harmed.  Diversity is unnatural.  Natural is freedom to be where one is safe and happy.
