Peggy Noonan: It’s the big fact of American life now, isn’t it? That we are patronized by our inferiors.
True. Defectives demand our obedience to their obsessions. Queers take first prize in that department. But most of the defectives hag-riding the American citizen are women. The world has not been improved by opening high national responsibility to hordes of females or queers. Peggy has noticed and remarked, though not with specificity like unto mine here. Still, she sees it and says it.
Yet again, let it never be forgotten about the same Peggy: this.
Gut feeling tells me Comey goes public with reopening HRC probe because he wants to be respected inside the guild as represented, for example, by McCarthy. Gut feeling also tells me Comey did life-longevity calculations in re several possible personal courses of action after July presser, to include responses to it, and decided yesterday’s gives him the best odds for continuing vitality.
Elsewhere here today I mentioned two reasons my gut tells me Comey did what he did yesterday: respect inside the guild and respect for personal longevity. But you imply one I also had thought of but did not mention: this is the way Michelle gets on the ticket in place of Hillary.
If that is the case — and it is not among my top gut feelings because it casts a pall on Comey personally — Comey’s move yesterday is insider politics of the most anti-Republic kind, showing he fears — physically and professionally — Susan Rice and her minions more than he does HRC and hers.
FWIW: I have voted, voting against every female on our ballot unless she was a Republican. I am fed up with female fears and angers diminishing the processes of government. Protecting women and encouraging them to bring forth their inner necessity, to be strong for the enrichment of their families and communities, I warmly approve. Their propensity for needless, mindless, bathetic drama no matter the costs I reprobate and note as disqualifying the great majority of women from high national responsibility.
Not for nothing do women prefer working for men rather than for women. With rare exceptions, women by nature are unsuited for high national responsibility. The current regime has illustrated that fact in the boldest possible colors. For which I thank them.
Update 1: Comey was made accepted an offer he could not refuse.
Update 2: Trump is not dangerous in any way. You and the numerous and distinguished company in which you move are projecting. A dangerous man does not have that family Trump has. That is a careful, sound and loving man. Are you blind? Has Megan McArdle produced as well? Hillary? Warren?
Update 3: As Trump repeatedly did and said things that would have ended anyone else’s political career, he won rather than lost admiration. Why? Because by example, not just by precept, he rejected, day in and day out, every convention and custom demanded by an overbearing, supercilious and detested cultural elite.
Our elites are not so much elite as elitist. We are, as Peggy Noonan says, patronized by our inferiors. And people are tired of it.

Update 5: I think these so-called elites are really stupid. Up and down are the reverse of what elites say they are. The elites are the thugs, bottom dwellers, sub-civilized, unrefined boors, lower selves.
The smart ones are those who are tolerant, not ambitious, gentle, kind, fair, careful, loving, studious, who cultivate the happiness of their families, pray without ceasing and accept and savor the circumstances of their life. I think elites have a rendezvous with the confessional, like it or not.
Americans are the smart ones. We have no orders of nobility. We make our way in this breathing world. And a fine way it is.
Ischinger is saying, among other things, that if USA makes bilateral agreements with current EU countries or with Russia without EU concurrence on USA’s side (multilateralism), EU will come fully apart. He is right about that.
And he is also saying that USA going bilateral in Europe and Russia kills NATO and therefore is war on the EU conceived as a unified entity (which it is not). He is right about that, too.
And that is why he and EU mandarins are not reassured by VPOTUS Pence’s language that USA supports NATO and EU. He knows that USA going bilateral in and around Europe ends NATO and EU. And they are right about that, too.
No, looking at it coldly, I’d say the EU/NATO goose is just about home-fried. Better they should prepare to win such war as they feel descending upon them. The actual war descending upon them, did they but know it, is civil war, not inter-nation war. To that fact they are marvelously oblivious.
I just hope the Trump administration does not jump in USA blood and treasure to save the poor dumb bastards from themselves for a third time in a century.
