The first homeschooling homepage on the World Wide Web was created by an Hermit at Adwaitha Hermitage.  The Hermit was  seventeen (17) years of age at the time and preparing the launch to independence.  That was in November of 1994.  The website was called, The Homeschooling Homepage.  It essayed to aggregate curricular and materials resources for homeschooling parents and students and made quite an encouragement in the orbit of homeschoolers, many of whom were online even in those early days of the WWW.

When the originating Hermit’s course of life precluded maintaining The Homeschooling Homepage, another Adwaitha Hermit – I –  took over the task, renamed the website Sri Sathya Sai Baba Rishikul and further organized the resources linked by the Quintivium (also here).  The original purpose remained and remains: to aggregate curricular and materials resources for homeschooling parents and students.  There never has been a commercial intent or presence. Students are supported during their education and pay nothing beyond the hard work of learning.

For many years the Rishikul has been graciously mirrored by Dr. Kazimierz Borkowski, Professor of Astronomy at Nicholas Copernicus UniversityTorunPoland.

Update 8: Are Homeschoolers Over-Qualified?

My comment: Our three homeschoolers were like that and that was 22 years ago.  I made sure none of them went to college or university.  I also made sure none of them asked for a job where they would be told they were overqualified, because it was well-known to homeschoolers then that such situations existed.  Conclusion: this son has had poor guidance from his parents.
