The Rule And The Mission Of Adwaitha Hermitage

Chaitanya Jyothi Museum Opening, 2000

RAMANAM
In the Name of The Father, and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit, Amen.

Countrymen,

ORBIS NON SUFFICIT
SOLUS DEUS SUFFICIT

The Rule

The Rule of Adwaitha Hermitage is the inner necessity of the Residents.  This varies by the individual Resident.

Accordingly, the organization of Adwaitha Hermitage is ultra-democratic.  Hermits are sovereign beings, whether they realize it or not.

Adwaitha Hermitage is a protective environment for those who are no longer trying to beat the world at its own game.

These are characteristics of Adwaitha Hermits:

  • They reside, they do not move around.
  • They earn their living or, in the case of minor children, are supported by their natural parents or, in the absence of natural parents, by blood-relatives or a permanently-interested Resident.
  • They have a vegetarian diet.
  • Their primary service to humanity is in the realm of education, especially of children.
  • They live simply and straight-forwardly, using such tools as they deem appropriate to the execution of their will.

The Mission

The Mission of Adwaitha Hermitage is to found and fund structures of learning that form God in the participants of the community, the nation and the world.  Something fresh, nothing new.
