Something is afoot in MENA, a new alignment is forming,
comprising Israel, Saud, Egypt and Jordan,
that I can see so far.
Not sure how it builds out,
but I think the Muslim Brotherhood and
Salafism in general are going to be overtaken by
a perfect storm,
even in Saud, where Salafism started.

Clear-eyed and clear-headed would be USA, Russia and India civilian leadership tasking their militaries to coordinate making the ME an international public park and settlement area replete with trees and water, homes and playgrounds for children, to supply their militaries whatever they need to do the job quickly and thoroughly and report back when the project is completed. Leaving the entire business to those three militaries alone.

It would not take long, three to five years, I estimate, if the ruddy politicians keep everyone but those militaries out of it and provide the resources requested. Not at all difficult for any reason if those three militaries are trusted to do the job. They can do it and I am sure would love to.

There is no reason the ME has to continue as a stone in the nations’ shoes.  Terrorism is a refined tactical art more typical of females than it is of males.

Political correctness, soft power and smart diplomacy all mean the same thing: manipulation. Instead of getting down to it and defeating an aggressor, extirpating their will to aggress — i.e., waging classical diplomatic, financial and military warfare — one attempts to manipulate them this way and that, like a cat playing with a mouse it has caught, instead of just killing it. It is a female’s and feline’s tactic: manipulate it rather than end it, toy with it rather than kill it.

This keeps the enemy alive, undefeated, still aggressive, things in a constant uproar. Terrorism, too, is a manipulation tactic, not a war-fighting action. Very feminine, feline.

PC, soft power, smart diplomacy and terrorism are of a piece: manipulate indefinitely rather than bring matters to a happy conclusion; get inside people’s minds and mess with them there rather than just incarcerate or shoot them.
