Update 1: And as Ralph Peters says, get the lawyers the hell off the battlefield and out of the targeting cells. Lawyers are unable to think as warriors, their training and mental posture are opposite that of warriors, so they are unqualified to conduct war, even diplomatic or financial war. The same is true of theologians. They have no business on a field of battle beyond tending the dying, dead and wounded. Lawyers and theologians can think about war and contribute to its understanding and preparations, but they cannot participate in war or make decisions regarding war underway or about to be.
The evil of so-called Islam is that it is driven by clergy who are lawyers. A double whammy of wrong, wrong, wrong. You want to defeat so-called Islam, fine, hang the mullahs. Very simple. But getting to the mullahs just to hang them requires effort by warriors unimpeded by lawyers or theologians.
Update 2: Jake Tapper is ashamed of US leader cadre. I have mixed feelings about this. I am ashamed of US leader cadre and voters who installed them, that they do not identify and declare war against Caliphist murderers in Paris and elsewhere. I would not dream of joining a thrall supporting or even sympathizing with a publishing team whose goal is offense to everyone and everything except fellow haters of Christianity. That publishing team knew the risks. Their bravado was for nothing laudable. They despise their new friends. I see no reason to sympathize or otherwise be concerned with some of their demises. Caliphist murderers, on the other hand, that is something to be concerned about, concerned unto death, because that is what Caliphist murderers are seeking for all not of their own.
