Power Line: Prophet-Driven

Chaitanya Jyothi Museum Opening, 2000

RAMANAM
In the Name of The Father, and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit, Amen.

Countrymen,

ORBIS NON SUFFICIT
SOLUS DEUS SUFFICIT

The boys at Power Line are making excellent work chewing over the phenomenology of so-called-Islam in light of its recrudescence this week in Gay Paree.

To this post today by Scott Johnson I commented as follows:

Excellent observation/point. Language is everything. Logic is Logos.

Islam got lost centuries ago when its sacred literature was rewritten, with the new parts claimed to have precedence over the old, and both Mohammed and Koran treated as idols, as gods. All very convenient for clergy/lawyers. Guess who did the rewriting and claiming?

What remains today, and for centuries, are ever smaller areas of “wink-wink, nod-nod we don’t really live like that or want to” and ever larger areas of “kill everyone we don’t like,” which means “kill everyone who fails to worship the idols of Mohammed and Koran as we demand.” To this “impossible” phenomenon al-Sisi [also here] and the Crown Prince of Bahrain call attention.  And another, an Arab newsman!  See also morchidat  in Morocco.

An irony of the ruling class’ narrative regarding “not Islam” and “genuine Islam” is that what they call not Islam really is not Islam but that there is no sizable, convincing genuine Islam to which they can point, although they think and hope that they can and do. Islam was submerged under an ever thickening sludge of idolatry of Mohammed and Koran by clerics/lawyers centuries ago. It is all but dead from suffocation. Local Exhibit A: CAIR.

Laws do not make a religion. They make a hell.

This is not meant to be patronizing, but, please accept my thanks for, as I said yesterday, “chewing” on these matters intelligently. It is so very needed. So much discourse on these matters involving Islam is fantastic, hot, ignorant, ejaculatory, superficial and worse. You guys are actually looking at the phenomenology and working it over with the digestive media of sound reason and learning.

Update 1: Related, from comments to a Richard Fernandez post:

“… is this all our mighty civilization has come to? Candles, flowers and hashtags?”

No, just the Globalists, who for now are the choice architects.

Update 2: Fernandez commenting on his own post:

Multi-culturalism depended on the implicit acceptance of the leftist’s multicultural rulebook as the controlling principle. That would have put Islam on par with say, the Gay Liberation Movement and the Hare Krishna. But Islam couldn’t accept that. They’ve been trying to tell the Left that for years.

“We need to be number one. The only way we can survive is being number one. We’ll take your public housing and welfare, but we really can’t negotiate our primacy, because our primacy is an article of faith.”

The Leftist response to all that was, “you don’t really mean that. We know what you mean. What you really want is more welfare.”

This worked for a while, but it’s not going to work any longer. Either the Muslims in the West give up the principle of primacy and becoming “ordinary Westerners” or this fight goes on. And it will go on, because as Howard Dean assures us, “this has nothing to do with Islam”.

The Left is puzzled by the fact that Muslims don’t really feel grateful to them. But there’s no mystery. The Left is as contemptuous of Islam as of any religion. And the Islamists know it.

Update 3: Freshman Congressman Ryan Zinke:

“The West is looking to the United States for leadership and when no one is at helm here then no other country going to act with enough force or resolve to put extremist Islamic forces on the defensive,” he said. “The American public is tough and is strong, but you have to tell them the truth. The truth is we face an enemy that is evil and not reformable. You can’t negotiate with them. We have to fight.”
