Salvic Narrative

Chaitanya Jyothi Museum Opening, 2000

RAMANAM
In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.  Amen.

Countrymen,

ORBIS NON SUFFICIT
SOLUS DEUS SUFFICIT

This is hilarious.  I know they think they are not, but these girls sound like apprentice stand-up comedians.  They need to develop diverse punch lines, however.  Feminism and social justice is old hat, audience jaded by its repetition.

Seriously, they are looking for a salvic narrative.  Most people do.  Maybe they should try church, or better, a fine work of existential theology such as The Courage To Be.  In any case, the salvic narrative already exists and is proven effective.  Any salvic narrative these girls try to make will not work because they will have made it.

It takes tremendous courage to resist the lure of appearances. The power of being which is manifest in such courage is so great that the gods tremble in fear of it.
