You know that I have been strongly ill-disposed to the SaiOrg for two decades. Through the smoke and fire, the precise reason for my fulmination probably was unclear. I wrote it out many times to a wide audience but the brimstone carrying wave probably was the most evident message.

I am at peace now in re this issue that provoked me and I want to thank you for your patience through the years and identify for the last time, I hope, the thing that was at issue and the resolution of which enables my peace.

The issue was the Sarva Dharma Symbol. Its five-ness is something so fundamental and therefore so important — universally and perpetually — that I could not allow its distortion — to six-ness — go unchecked. If the thing had been of minor consequence and easily understood as wrong, I would not have got involved. But it was just the other way: definitive consequence and widely not understood as wrong. This nature of the event caused my involvement.

I will not, again, here, detail the significance of five in contrast to six. I just want to say that I noticed on the SaiOrg page that it is now all five, as Swami drew it, and this is what gives me peace. I do not know how it happened and do not really care. That it happened is all that matters to me.

Six is not a problem. It has its honored and appropriate place. But not in the context contemplated by the Sarva Dharma Symbol, excepting, significantly, as half the Buddhist symbol. You know that my activity against the “American Logo,” as Janet Bock used to style it, raised wide and loud cries that I am anti-Semitic. This was unavoidable and while I answered the insult, I knew it was unanswerable for anyone ignorant enough to use it.

Because you guys are old hands, the only old hands I can speak with at this point, I wanted to share this happiness I have with you. The SaiOrg is using the right number on its escutcheon: five. Graham is at peace with the SaiOrg. All other problems are handleable by the community and do not require my attention. That one, my friends, compelled my attention and was worth my life.
