John Hinderaker at Power Line writes today on immigration reform being used to drive down USA wages.  I commented:

By those who advocate open borders, I think the wage impact is seen as a secondary benefit.  The primary benefit in their minds, I believe, is to further degrade the USA’s ability to defend herself.  And ultimately to destroy that ability.  Military drawdown, against all rational considerations (invita minerva), has the same primary purpose, the secondary being to demoralize and destabilize military personnel.  We are seeing the long-standing goal of disabling USA’s self-defense ability approach complete success.  Any remedy for that insanity is outside political and judicial process because both of those structures promote the insanity.  It may be that the militarization of law enforcement is a blessing in disguise in that it has decentralized and thereby strengthened the nation’s ability to defend herself.
