That the luminary signatories would chose WOTR as publisher is curious. Their statement — warning really, but to whom, civ or mil, and why, in preparation for what? — shows disorder, actual and potential, in the heart of operations against Russia from 404 [Ukraine].
My thought, in light of these luminaries’ publication, and with respect to operations in 404, is that a lawless administration, which Americans have, is one in which authority cannot be found, and in consequence, one which is in train of murdering itself, so to speak. When everything is relative, nature herself steps in to reestablish order.
Contrasting Russian loyalty to law and good order with combined West / NeoCon / Euro-American Fascist demands for rules-based order — i.e. lawlessness — is a powerful argument. That luminaries such as signed this article in WOTR fear for good order inside their legacies reveals how powerful the argument for law actually is. I am glad Putin, Lavrov, Zakharova, Novak, Matviyenko, Shoigu, and other stewards of Mother Russia frequently use that argument. Good order is the topic of the day, on the battlefield and off.
There’s a mood coming now generally from The USA federal GO-NGO establishment, to the effect, don’t question us, don’t scrutinize us, don’t even think about dismissing, replacing, or unelecting us, because we’re here to make your life a living hell if we think you are crossing us.
Even if you aren’t, or aren’t about to cross us, if we think you are crossing us, or might cross us, you are going to suffer like you cannot imagine. There is no law for you. We are the law. And don’t you forget it. That’s the mood, the emotion coming now from inside the federal GO-NGO establishment.
I’m not sure what exactly is their purpose, Esper et al., for publishing this. To head off, to warn off Donald Trump or Mark Milley? Prepare US Armed Forces Officer Corps to suicide themselves and their commands obeying a POTUS’ orders to attack into Ukraine and seize Moscow? I don’t know.
They seem hung on the question of a formally illegal order from a POTUS vice a merely unwise, militarily objectionable, or imprudent one. In classical American practice, the first would be refuse-able, mandatorily, but the second not, regardless of carnage ensuing from its execution.
I suspect these guys speak for the present federal mood, which is that The USA — includes only US elites — is a country always on offense against anyone who might challenge their hegemony in all matters. American elites know Americans are not with them in that posture of theirs.
They know Americans’ native posture is defensive, as is proper for every country, not offensive. US elites don’t want that. They want to take into themselves the world’s wealth, all of it. They want The USA’s powers of government to be on permanent offense, at home and abroad, themselves picking the targets and means of annihilating them, so they, US elites, can seize the remains. Only offense and only themselves to manage it. Other can execute and get killed, so what? So long as US elites get the spoils of endless wars they incite.
I assess these guys as lost to reason, deluded by ideology, envious, and incompetent vice malicious, avaricious, or absurd. They are in any case lawless, which means, among other things, that their authority to speak as Americans, much less for Americans, much less to lecture Americans, is zero.
The logic of my train of thought, foregoing, is that these luminaries’ publication of this particular, at this particular time, points to its being a warning shot across the bows of the Officer Corps of The United States Armed Forces. Listen up guys and gals: there can be no illegal orders from a POTUS now, only, perhaps, an unwise ones. But that’s not your concern. You have no alternative but to execute all orders per POTUS’ intent, and we’ll tell you who POTUS is.
Perhaps our luminaries know that illegal orders for offensive war against Russia and all things Russian is coming soon, ostensibly from a POTUS. Perhaps they are warning the US Armed Forces Officer Corps not to blink or even think about disobeying, mitigating, or otherwise diluting orders when received, nor resign their commissions, perhaps reporting out conditions inside the federal GO-NGO establishment. Lawyers are able to construe a resignation of commission — actually any act at all — as an act of treason.
Left or right, conservative or liberal, Democrat or Republican, US elites use the same language, the same concepts, the same phrases. And they use the same phrases in private and in public, no difference. That’s the problem. They believe their own propaganda, their own fantasies, use the same for their intellectual activities. Freud is delighted, the nation groans. Wittingly or unwittingly, they’ve no vocabulary fully to see much less to solve the problems they read and hear with their eyes and ears.
Obviously, these luminaries, foregoing, think there is a problem of obedience at this time between civilian and military leadership, and they want to emphasize civilian control — all well and good, so far — but WHY there is a problem of obedience and WHAT to do about it are questions beyond these luminaries’ capacities, even assuming they sincerely want to solve the problem. In effect, they recommend solving differential equations with arithmetic.
- US Armed Forces Enlisted and Officer Corps these days do not trust their most senior Officers because they are unsure their most senior Officers condone the reasons they joined up: (1) patriotism, wishing to protect and serve their Mother Country, and (2) response to an internal call to the profession of arms. When civilian and military officials share primal patriotic feelings, and the latter are true Soldiers, the former will not want to scold the latter regarding contents and limits of their authorities. The lack of such feelings in civilian officials and the occasional Enlisted or Officer who lacks an internal call to the profession of arms tempt civilian officials to abuse Officers and Enlisted for whose welfare the law and a decent sense of human dignity make them stewards.
Our luminaries are shooting wildly what they want to be illumination rounds, and in all the wrong directions. What is The USA strategic role in the order of nations? What is USA sovereignty, as distinguished from USA preeminence or dominance, which aspirations are prima facie evils yet describe now the intellectual and emotional content of US elites? How can the sovereignty of The USA be maintained in current and predictable inter-nation conditions? What is the order of nations? These are proper directions to launch illumination rounds at this time.
Schizophrenia at the operational and tactical levels, yes. At the strategic level another psycho-spiritual disease is present and in play: envious megalomania — Christian Fathers called it concupiscence, the desire to take everything into one’s self, everything altogether — in this case genociding most of the world’s population, to put their wealth in reach of seizure by oligarchs of the finance-green obsession.
Instead of Highland Clearances, this one finance-greens plan as Planet Clearances.
Clearing the planet of most human life is not less psychotic for being thought out. But it’s more than schizophrenic. Seeing this — Planet Clearances — makes consistent, albeit still curious, the connection between Obama and, say, Goldman Sachs. There is a saying in Indian (Bharathia) culture: envy must be atoned.
