Writing pseudonymously as Marinus in the August 2022 print version of [U.S.] Marine Corps Gazette, an American military professional provides the most accurate assessments of the Russian SMO-Ukraine that I have read in legacy media, aka stenographers for USG information operators. Marinus breaks ranks with the steno pool. I cannot imagine how he got this article published, unless he retired at O-9 or O-10 and enjoys respect inside The Corps.
The article is titled The Russian Invasion Of Ukraine. [Invasion is the wrong word, perhaps dictated by editors.] The article appears to be not in the online version of [U.S.] Marine Corps Gazette. Or, it is behind a paywall / login. Someone has made jpegs of the article’s four pages, highlighting passages meaningful to that someone. The jpegs reached Twitter, Reddit, and Southfront. They are readable there (and savable).
