An order to deploy which lacks or frustrates intent to compel a target to sign a Declaration of Unconditional Surrender is an unlawful order by the Rules of Just War, the Conventions of War, Common Sense, and the Spirit of America.
Scimus autem quoniam diligentibus Deum omnia cooperantur in bonum, iis qui secundum propositum vocati sunt sancti. And we know that to them that love God, all things work together unto good, to such as, according to his purpose, are called to be saints.
I wrote yesterday about seeing and hearing without seeing and hearing.
Isaiah (6:8-13) reports:
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
He said, “Go and tell this people:
“ ‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’
Make the heart of this people calloused;
make their ears dull
and close their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.”
Then I said, “For how long, Lord?”
And he answered:
“Until the cities lie ruined
and without inhabitant,
until the houses are left deserted
and the fields ruined and ravaged,
until the Lord has sent everyone far away
and the land is utterly forsaken.
And though a tenth remains in the land,
it will again be laid waste.
But as the terebinth and oak
leave stumps when they are cut down,
so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.”
Jesus (Matthew 13:13) says:
Therefore do I speak to them in parables: because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
I have written before comparing current events in The United States with The Highland Clearances. One post, dated 02JUL20, I titled The American Clearances.
Today at InstaPundit, Stephen Green illustrated the phenomenon of seeing without understanding, hearing without realizing. So I commented, referring analogically to The Highland Clearances:
Faulty premise. Nobody screwed up save the one(s) who (1) let news of the [Afghanistan] plan’s consequences get into public view and (2) advised that if those consequences did get into public view the comms shop could handle it and no one would be interested half an hour later.
What happened outside a comms problem is exactly what was meant to happen. If something else had been intended, that would have happened.
Green, old boy, why do you tolerate this “screwed up” nonsense? Do you really want to underestimate your enemy by that much?
Look, CIA, State, Iran, CCP, churches, synagogues, and mosques are flooding America with insolent, criminal foreigners for the same reason their own Lairds flooded the Scottish Highlands with sheep: to drive everyone else off lands the Lairds wanted for themselves, land being the foundation of wealth, their herds now worked by a few shepherds they could control, and wool bringing far more at market than subsistence farming and crofting.
Historians call it The Industrial Revolution. Today’s oligarchs want a Fourth Industrial Revolution, as if three — I count one — were not enough. They mean a fourth round of rounding on private citizens all ’round the earth.
Here, now, it is Blackstone, CCP, and Big Philanthropy (Gates et al) doing the driving, under light CIA rein, to reduce population bigly (unending pandemic of fear, total surveillance, 80% human die off the goal) and replace private owners with a hand-full of permanent tenants — renters, dependents — across a global region formerly called USA, and indeed, across the globe in toto.
CIA / CCP did to American GOFOs and Field Grades in AFPAK — and GOFOs let them — what Himmler did to SS junior officers, enlisted, and office help when the outcome of WWII was certain: DIRTY THEM UP, put them in the field where they could not possibly accomplish any mission they were given, would become angry, hysterical, impulsive, and brutal, and therefore par excellence, would expose themselves to public revulsion and legal jeopardy at Allied war crimes tribunals. Of such is love and loyalty among the criminal classes.
Every devotee hopes ultimately to experience the joy of supreme bliss as a result of their spiritual discipline. But that bliss isn’t something newly earned or acquired; it’s not a new experience to be won by spiritual discipline. It’s always with you, within you; but it can’t be tasted because of the obstacle of ego, which acts as a screen, hiding it from view. One has to tear that veil asunder. What the aspirant needs is spiritual discipline. Then, the ever-existing bliss can be cognized. It doesn’t arise anew; it’s always there. What comes and goes is the screen of “I” and “mine”, which covers the bliss. While trying to remove the screen of “I am the enjoyer” and “these things are mine”, the aspirant shouldn’t hasten frantically and worry too much if the expected bliss isn’t discovered. At such times, peace is an unfailing help. If peace is cultivated well at first, then one can succeed in any task, however difficult!
