RAMANAM
In the Name of The Father, and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit, Amen.
Countrymen,
ORBIS NON SUFFICIT
SOLUS DEUS SUFFICIT
Queering is an effort to deny the dialectical nature of life. It is morbid misanthropy.
It does not matter whether queering is genetically or socially sourced, inherited or learned. Whatever its source, queering is an effort to deny the dialectical nature of life. The component of active, willful denial suffuses the queer phenomenon, in thought, word and deed.
Queering is affirmative, in recent years with seeming triumphalism, about what does not and cannot exist: non-dialectical experience. One hand clapping. There is no same (homo) sexuality. Sexuality is between inseparable polar opposites. Life proceeds from dynamic encounter of opposites. It cannot and self-evidently does not proceed from sames, no matter how dynamic their encounter, because they are the same.
Sames cannot dance in the sense of produce. They can only charades dance, fruitlessly and wastefully.
The dialectical nature of life means that life proceeds from the dynamic tension of polarities. Polarities have the quality that their poles are mutually dependent even though opposites.
For example, if one could take away one side of the yin-yang symbol, an Oriental expression of the dialectical or polar nature of life, one would be left, presumably, with the one pole showing and air or scenery or nothingness – and absurdity since only that which exists can be denied, or put another way, denial is a form of affirmation – showing in place of the pole that was taken away.
Of course, air, scenery and nothingness are somethings. So the yin-yang symbol persists even when one of its sides or poles is removed. Dialectics cannot be removed by removing one of its terms.
If one could take away both sides of the yin-yang symbol, polarity itself would cease and with it life. However, that by which dialectics was destroyed would itself have a dialectical nature. So once again, that to which the yin-yang symbol points and in which it participates – the dialectical nature of life – persists.
Thus, queering is a forlorn effort that cannot succeed. Dialectics cannot be denied or eliminated. To try to do either is to oppose life without hope of success. This reality is the source of the urge for so-called trans-vestism (robing beyond life).
Thus the traditional description of queering as an un-natural act is accurate and sufficient. The specific sense in which queering is an un-natural act is its effort to deny the dance of life, or, stated in the technical terms of philosophy, the dialectical or polar nature of life.
In every way, queering is an un-natural act, and whether it is inherited or acquired is moot, a non-issue.
