Fundamentals have not changed, only incidentals.
Fifty or so years ago, America’s leadership families stepped back from their traditional roles. Why they did that is discussable. That they did it is not.
Into the vacuum swarmed families unfamiliar with and unsuited for leadership, essaying to command first churches and schools, then media and government, and lately, industry. The last redoubt of America’s leadership families has been the military services. From their operations center, CIA, command-hungry families have been trying to swarm American and other national military services in earnest since about 1977.
The desire to lead is sane and salutary. The desire to command is crazy and contemptible. Wanting leadership for America is wanting America’s leadership families to step forward again into their traditional roles. I am ready to do that.

Many of you misunderstand upavasa to mean ‘fasting’ and I know, you overdo it. You fast on Monday to please Shiva, on Tuesday to please Lakshmi, on Wednesday to propitiate some other God, on Thursday in My Name, on Friday for Gowri and Saturday, for fear of Shani and on Sunday, to get the favour of the Sun. Now, this fasting will not bring you nearer to the Grace of God. Upavasa means all your thoughts, deeds and words on those holy days must be about God, you should spend the day ‘near’ Him, ‘in’ Him, and ‘for’ Him. It means that eating, sleeping and other bodily avocations take a secondary role, and meditation and japam take the main role. If your body wastes away as a result of these fasts, God will be blamed! So, you are only drawing down the calumny of people on the God you adore! They will come to you and say, “What! Before you started this Sai Baba Pooja, you were looking much better; now you have become so thin and frail; you can scarcely move!” Don’t overdo anything; be moderate and wise.
