Countrymen,

Maybe our military and political leaders know how to cauterize ayatollahs and mullahs without bleeding our troops white, but if they don’t, until they deactivate ayatollahs and mullahs (comparable to closing the Ho Chi Minh Trail) our troops will bleed. It was the refusal of politicians to close the Ho Chi Minh Trail that caused me to work to get our forces out of Vietnam. This same issue General MacArthur forced into public view regarding the bridges over the Yalu and the British pipeline to China through Hong Kong.

War is preserving/protecting, surgery. War by half-measures is killing, butchery.

The ayatollah/mullah issue will lose President Bush the election if he does not solve it, as the Ho Chi Minh Trail issue lost President Johnson the Presidency and Vice President Humphrey the election in 1968 and President Nixon the Presidency in 1974. The only solution is to permanently incarcerate the ayatollahs and mullahs as war criminals. Better yet would be to liquidate them, but unless done covertly that would not be condoned in opinion orbits. Morally and ethically, liquidation of ayatollahs and mullahs is justified many times over.
