Countrymen,
In the words of the notorious Noam Chomsky: Israel is America’s cop on the beat in the Middle East.
This is largely but not entirely true, viz. for example, Israeli espionage against US.
Israel does not have American politics in its hand, as witness the insanity of denial of or lack of seriousness regarding the GWOT in our country today, a denial and myopia which directly threatens Israel and which some Jewish media/entertainment cabals here promote with the greatest vigor.
Guilt over Holocaust had nothing to do with establishment of Israel, or at best minimally since Holocaust had not occurred when establishment of Israel was really done, by Balfour Declaration, which was actually a back-door Anti-Semitism in that it contemplates getting Jews out of Europe and into the Middle East, where oil was not yet discovered.
“Anti-Semitism” as used by Jews is a misnomer because by it they mean Anti-Jew but the word Semite includes also Arabs. Jews and Arabs are both Semites!
Balfour was also anti-Semitic in the direction of the Palestinian Arabs, who were living on the land Herzl and Zionists contemplated as Israel restored. Herzl was the Zionism lead but not its originator. It originated with Rabbis. Herzl was a charismatic journalists. God save us from charismatic journalists, who posture as omniscient and omni-beneficent!
The Palestinians are the despised of the Arab world, have been for centuries, descendants of Phoenicians, considered dogs by other Arabs, as shown by the other’s refusal to resettle them — excepting the Hashemites of Jordan, who tried to resettle them in Jordan until their doggishness made itself felt through Hamas and the Jordanians had no choice but to expelled them harshly, as they would not go any other way — or to help them as much as their petro dollars could in fact do.

The US was complicit in setting up Israel — which really resulted from Zionists exploiting conflict between the British Foreign Office, supporting at least tacitly the Hashemites, and the East India Company, supporting bin Saud because he controlled their coaling stations for merchant and war ships on the east coast of Arabia. The British Army also supported the Hashemites, including T. E. Lawrence and General Allenby. And I support them.
Thus, having helped, with Great Britain, set it up, the US is obliged to make a go of Israel and has poured billions of US taxpayer money — all Presidents and parties — to support the Israelis, who for long decades were incompetent, lazy, unproductive, loutish and stupid, like their Rabbis and especially Slavic forebears, the ones Patton rightly despised as content to live like animals.
Most of the cultured Jews of Western Europe and the Balkans were annihilated by the Nazis. Not the Rothschilds of France, however, which the Nazis occupied without sending them to the camps. Now, why do you think that was? It bears on your question …. Have you ever heard anyone ask why the Rothschilds were not exterminated and their land confiscated, even by the Vichy French? Why do you think that is …. Hint, it is not the wine or the vineyards from which it comes. The Nazis could have taken that.
But the principal reason for US interest in supporting Israel is the same one announced by President Bush as central reason to clean up Iraq: establish democracy in the Middle East. The US self-image is as of the apostle of democracy to the world. This has always been the case and always will be. It is partially true but not entirely.
This motivation exceeds in power the commercial/economic motivation for US activity world-wide. It is usually collated wrapped with the economic motivation, but it is the leading element of the mixture. Americans really do think themselves good guys and they really do attribute their prosperity to democratic values and methods of organization. And they are partially right on both counts.
It is also partially true that democracy is the driver of prosperity and security and religious freedom. It is not entirely true.
Thus, US confidence in the power and legitimacy of democracy to drive, implicitly, all things good is partially accurate. It is not entirely or solely accurate.
Thus we have trouble with Israel directly and our support for Israel brings us trouble.
Note that the Hashemites of Jordan and their allied families of Egypt have officially made peace with Israel and maintain normal diplomatic relations with the Israelis.
In the last two decades the Israelis have become productive economically, including in high tech, and so have lightened the welfare load on US taxpayers. And they are able to act more independently as a result, which is a good thing, though with the mixture of espionage against their benefactor, the US.
Having become a strong member of the multi-national economy, the US has another reason to support Israel: she makes things we and our allies need.
And there is also the desire to keep a permanent stone in the shoe of Arab xenophobes such as the Sauds/Wahhabs, Hamas and the Iranian Shiite clergy counterfeits, etc. The Iranian Shiite clergy counterfeits are included among Arab xenophobes because their ancestors were Arabs (Iranians are Indo-Europeans/Persians), refugees because they were and are heretics of Islam, whose orthodox development is Sunna.
If there is one thing I would want you to grasp as essential habit of life (which is par excellence learning) it is the meaning and use of words, including especially compound words, including words with a prefix or suffix. Know your words, be able to use words that fully mean or describe what you want to say and to be understood and you must be a great success in life, both to yourself, which is most important, and among others of your orbit. Use more and more sublime words since these carry the expressive/descriptive power that is yours when you know and can use them. That power to express and describe in words — all derivatives of The Word — is the power of God.
It is always good to bear in mind that there is planet-wide geographic synchronicity in spiritual upsurges or kairoi (Greek plural of kairos, an auspicious time, as compared with Greek chronos, measured time [e.g., chronometer = watch/clock]): the same kairos/era which produced St Francis of Assisi and The Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres produced Shankara (or Sankaracharya) in India and the classical period of Sufism, including Rumi, in Arabia/Persia.
