Stability Is Not An Objective

In the Name of The Father, and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit, Amen.

Countrymen,

ORBIS NON SUFFICIT
SOLUS DEUS SUFFICIT

Looters want stability.  Builders want opportunity.

Allowing Syria to become a launching pad for Iranian aggression is not the way to achieve stability.  Israel and the U.S. will be conferring closely on the issue and hopefully will reach understanding and agreement.

Stability is not an objective.  It is not any objective.  Stability is like security as an objective: no such thing exists nor ever has existed.  The objective is to recognize opportunity presenting itself and to exploit that in a manner comporting with actual national interest.

To a post titled Israel: U.S.-Russia Deal on Syria Gives Iran a Win,  Is Unacceptable, commenter Dan Loret held his own against a range of doubters on an aspect of USA grand national strategic objective.  His interlocutors can be read at the post just linked.  His side of the discussion, given chronologically as he engaged it, is next below:

The reality is pretty simple: Israel and the US were supplying ISIS by proxy after the so-called “moderate factions” disappeared in the Syrian civil war, because they were the only people trying to take down Assad.

However, it’s become apparent that ISIS is actually a bigger threat to the west than Assad, and whatever Iran and Russia’s flaws they are not responsible for the decades of terrorism that the West has been suffering from – Saudi Arabia is.  Rewinding the clock to 2010 to before the Saudis paid Hillary Clinton to fund a civil war in Syria for the purposes of overthrowing Assad so the Saudis could get their pipeline is a win for everyone except the corrupt Clintons, Israel, and the Saudis.

At this point Israel basically wants to force the US to invade Syria and start Iraq 2: Electric Boogaloo solely for its own benefit – but Trump is nowhere near stupid enough to do such a thing.  Sorry Israel, but our strategy is America first, not Israel first like Bush/Clinton.

When was Assad ever a threat to the West?

Ah yes, anyone who questions the almighty Israel is LITERALLY STORMFRONT.  Yes, Israel doesn’t force the US to do anything, besides the fact that AIPAC is literally the largest lobbyist in DC.  THE US HAS NO INTEREST IN MIDDLE EASTERN WARS.  We don’t have any interest in the middle east anymore – we don’t need the one thing they have (oil) because we’re the new energy superpower.  Let these petty Islamic tyrants wither away into dust.

It’s really telling that just posting the suggestion that Israel should fight its own battles earns instant accusations of being a neo-nazi. Definitely hit a nerve there.

Sorry Israel, but the American public will no longer stomach being your cannon fodder against the boogeyman of Iran.  Iran is a dictatorship led by evil men, but what muslim country in the middle east isn’t?  Israel has been clamoring that Iran is “6 months away from nuclear weapons” since the mid 80s – more than 30 years.

The USA just has no more stomach for enduring endless bloodshed for the sole benefit of Israel – especially when Israel doesn’t even put its own soldiers on the line.

Israelis have been trying to sell this lie that their interests are the same as ours, but they just aren’t.  With our newfound status as an energy superpower, we can just adopt a strategy of contain and forget when it comes to the middle east instead of constant endless bloodletting for no real purpose other than being Israel’s foot soldiers.

It was a good free ride while it last Israel, but it’s over now.  You will have to actually fight your own battles and be satisfied with JUST the billions in aid and armaments we send you every year.

Are you seriously dumb enough to think I was arguing that we deployed troops TO Israel?  I’m saying we are basically fighting for Israel’s interests, not our own.  Our interests in the middle east died with the fracking revolution.  We can leave these 7th century theocratic dictatorships to wither on the vine now that we are no longer beholden to them for the one thing they had: oil.  No more Americans fighting and dying in wars that have no benefit for the USA.
