Democrats and many, many Republicans (D-R UniParty) treat governments as perpetual money trees for enriching themselves.  They focus sharply on picking the fruits of taxation for themselves rather than using those fruits to their intended purpose, which is to cultivate the welfare, the interests of the taxing jurisdiction: city, state or nation.

Today, some scientists are making this point with a shameless march.  Fear and hatred of POTUS is aroused by anger over his focus on channeling spending to cultivate the interests of American citizens as Americans of the USA nation state rather than slopping dollars into beaks of D-R UniParty cronies — globalists — as per past practice.  The difference is huge and the cronies know it, as does the electorate.

Like Patton pivoting to relieve Americans at Bastogne, POTUS Donald Trump is the only man in America available with assets rational, agile and decisive enough to save Americans and America from overrunning by the barbarians of globalism — whose goal is to bleed Americans white to make themselves sporty — and having to claw their way back laboriously and bloodily from captivity.

It’s not the data, it’s the computer models. Everyone knows data is malleable.  Not everyone, yet, knows that computer models are hunches, not fore-tellings; i.e., malleable.  Stephens questioned the power of the computer models.  Of course that is going to arouse fury.  For one reason, it’s smack-talking trillions of tax dollars for lavish living by thousands of people, at least.

Stephens in effect asked Steven Hawking whether we should trust his implicit claim to finding intelligibility in anything at all.  I dare say Hawking would reply with warmth and probably aspersion.  To be fair, I think Hawking is a bad as well as deluded personality, but I would not challenge his assumption that the universe is intelligible, at least intelligible so far as his and my severely finite capacities permit in the play-pen of infinitude.
