Churches, colleges, universities, NGOs and activist organizations can be prosecuted for transgressing their writs, their tax statuses and/or other laws by inciting harm against persons and institutions of the USA both public and private. Protests in the sense of peaceful redress of grievances are not what we are seeing. Violent insurrection, subversion, sedition and treason are. In other words, organized crime.
