These days, the BIG GUYS tend to be intellectually mediocre, yes, and also morally mediocre. However, they have one thing prized by ambitious personalities: the ability and propensity to terrorize. Journalists’ words for this propensity include heft, gravitas, weigh in. The referent of that language, and of persons it describes, is the equipment Colin mentions Bill using at home and the splendid clothing, jewelry and accommodations Bill and Colin and BIG GUYS like them consider themselves to the manner born.
Men and women (pretending) of high ambition — includes practically every one of high station as the world measures that — can walk into a room and instantly make, usually, everyone else in it fear being taken for less than capable, perhaps even a flagging wreck, if they are really good at it. Such a person the world judges reliable. For a while anyway, until the next big spender walks in the door and communicates what he or she is made of.
At one time, anyhow, Colin, among others, had that ability and propensity. Thus his access to high station and to journalists, who live on the stuff.
Politics is about two things: sex and money. We say it is about power but can be more specific than that. Politics is about sex and money. Bill and Hillary deserve credit, even admiration for being very fine politicians. No wonder journalists love them. Bill and Hillary understand exactly what they and politics are about and are very capable and reliable doing it. Even when they are not talking about sex and money they are talking about sex and money.
Fraudulently or not, The Fraud threw down more politics than Bill and Hillary had in 2008. Colin just did likewise, or someone did on his behalf, but with throw downs Colin first made. And to what did journalists look when Donald Trump walked into the room?: what is he made of?, what is his equipment?
Feminists have a point, you know, although, along with most in the world, they use the same language and have the same stirrings when a Bill or a Colin walks in the room. The world is about terror by sex and money.

In contrast, in 1945, Korea was turned over to State, and look what happened there. DOD had no responsibility for Korea post-war. That’s why nearly an entire Army division — to include its commanding general — was lost very quickly when Truman suddenly reversed course and ordered DOD into Korea to oppose the Nork rush to Pusan. Same as has happened in Iraq, with the Nork parallel being Daesh and the division lost Iraqi immediately and, remotely, almost the equivalent of an American division for a victory thrown away by fascist traitors masquerading as benign globalists.
But behind that tactical error was a strategic one: the decision (1) not to put the country on war footing and (2) not to occupy Iraq until such time as will to aggress ceased to exist therein and/or Iraq herself could ensure that it would not.
The buck stops at the Oval Office. That room has hosted knowledge and intelligence rarely and thinly since 1945. Courage even less often.
