I think the gist of the attack in San Bernardino on 02NOV15 is that the Moslem Brotherhood in the USA has gone kinetic, set against the backdrop of Americans having a chief executive with no interest in protecting them or the interests of their country.
Comments I made at two blogs, The Liberty Zone and Rantburg, record the development of my thinking that led to the foregoing sentence.
At The Liberty Zone:
“There doesn’t seem to be any attached symbolism to this attack.”
There is: Christmas. You may be right that a bigger attack was planned, if not executed by these, by others, and that this one went off prematurely. Regardless, yeah or nay on that, the symbol involved is Christmas. One might expect a spate of these now, all around Christmas celebrations.
My 2c: someone at the party made him feel uncomfortable as Moslem. He got angry and hateful and was already planning a much larger event at another Christmas occasion in the area. So, full of anger, he calls his wife, tells her to kit up, get his ready, because they now have a preliminary performance, his bureaucratic Christmas party.
(That party was probably an SB County no-no if made official, and the occasion of his anger may have been that he pointed that out and was told to stuff it).
The kits were for the much bigger jump they planned at another venue, but they used them at this preliminary one as well, made far less damage than they could/should have had they trained for such with those weapons, and tried to make it to the big show, which got spared.
The small body count relative to the size of the room (twitterers say it holds 200, probably was near capacity or a smaller room would have been rented) and the lethality of the weapons even in relatively untrained hands (boy in Connecticut) suggests to me that this party was not the primary target. They made a point there then got out quickly, before LE could arrive, to preach their major sermon elsewhere. It did not go off.

Nicki, possible they planned a Christmas Day attack and were triggered early by what went down at the bureaucrats’ party. But they operate on their calendar and concepts and it is my impression that Christmas for them is a block of time, not a single day, just as it is in the Church’s Liturgical Year, which is in Advent right now, not Christmas.
November 13, for example, is a special day for them (I forget which exactly), as is September 11.
Their overall ideology, as I understand it, is to avenge their loss of Cordova and Andalusia, their draw at Vienna in 1529 and their defeat at Vienna in 1683.
The Armies of Allah are not supposed to lose any battle. How could they given Allah’s omnipotence? Napoleon and then Nelson in Egypt and the Levant are, therefore, existential crises for them of the first water.
They beg two life-depending questions: (1) is Allah one and omnipotent or not, and (2) what must we do to avenge the honor of the Prophet despoiled by military draw, loss and occupation? The Salafist (Wahhabi) answer to both questions is: be purer, more Sharia-adamant, more suicidal war-making Moslems. As we see.

There are secondary and no doubt tertiary rings of actors around this event. Idaho plates, seemingly rented vehicle, even more ammo and bombs/bomb gear reposed at home of perps than in their wheels and early on-scene reports of three or four participants, not two only as stated now by LE. Also, LE recent statements, both local and federal, imply potential confirmation of Nicki’s and others’ thought that this escapade was perhaps improv prelude to another larger.
All this means lurking secondary and probably tertiary rings of actors, of which “news” treats only primary. Speed of CAIR spin, counter-espionage propaganda I think confirms that. Event probably theirs, Moslem Brotherhood’s (MB). Where does a mere food inspector get assets to purchase those weapons and peripherals (high-end combat tricked-out), travel internationally and rent a high-end SUV? Same as impecunious BHO does: MB and(?) a USA three-letter company.
This is not ISIS, probably, or they would have claimed it rather than merely cheered it. So, it is someone/organization, Salafist like ISIS, not previously on LE radar, as they say, probably because politically disallowed to. US domestic intel stinks from PC, aka don’t mention CAIR/MB. LE OK when things go down, but actively prevented by Moslem Brotherhood lieges, the White House occupiers, from drawing accurate pictures of the AO. I’ll posit that this event is 100% a Moslem Brotherhood show.
Americans woke up realizing their Chief Executive has no interest in protecting them or their national interest. They are scanning for targets and will get granular rather quickly.

I posit that this attack in San Berdoo reveals the Moslem Brotherhood in the USA has gone kinetic. I will not speculate on the reason for that decision. Until now, MB operations have been propaganda, infrastructure build-out and lawfare. Add kinetics, something new, here.
One clue to this attack being an MB operation is that LE claims not to have heard of the pair. Probably true, because MB-dependent bureaucrats and politicians disallow LE radars pointing at MB.
Another clue are the illegal-in-CA and well-tricked-out long guns. Only very competent networks could engineer that possession.
And hiding it all from mom? As if.
There are other clues to MB kinetics, no doubt noted by others. CAIR’s immediate presser to deny all majorly among them. The child who yells the soonest and loudest that he or she did not do it did it.
As a relevant aside, I think the “loyal to ISIS” news this morning is misdirection. Those two had no little training in spy-craft.
The target, while probably not the day’s primary, was about Christmas, naturally, Christianity being the Moslem bête noire.
(A party of that nature probably violated county policy, which probably set-off the shooter’s sudden rage when he confronted co-workers about that. His father is a violent man. Note family members instantly lawyered up by/with MB. MB prints are all over this event. It’s theirs. They’ve gone kinetic and intend to defend doing that. And no doubt do more of it. DOJ vows to prosecute anyone who complains, names Islam.)
MB kinetics adds huge wall of force to leftie-globalist hegemonic chaos. Americans have a Chief Executive with no interest in them or the interests of their country. In fact, plots with their enemies. I expect more, also connected to Christmas, which is a season, not a day.
The Spirit of America is scanning for targets. Besides the obvious, let me suggest compiling names and contact information for two:
1- benefactors, officers and staffs of the locust-swarm of so-called non-profit foundations and other NGOs, them that coerce, nudge and nag for ideas, plans and activities that subvert the sovereignty of the United States, the independence of her citizens and/or their ability to think clearly enough to defend themselves against foreign or domestic malice.
2- parochial clergy, meaning, those drawing assets from offering plates and alms boxes.
Update 1: A thought: increasing granularity beckons. Not just Islamic terrorism, etc. and ISIS, which are amorphous and remain overseas with respect to presentable street-level retail caliphism, now the need is for identifying the street level presentable retail caliphist shops at the local strip malls, schools, mosques, coffee shops and restaurants, curriculum publishers, big malls, office complexes and social media. With names and addresses. Moslem Brotherhood and its hydra-headed body comes to mind. Al Saud’s network of Moslem studies centers on secondary and post-secondary campuses does also.
The neighbors in Redlands did not commit their concerns to police reports. That level of granularity is indicated now, QED. Despite the fact that DOJ and their boss appear to have ordered Moslem Brotherhood and like networks off law enforcement radars … and now threaten prosecution for, in effect, placing them back on.
