Success

RAMANAM
In the Name of The Father, and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit, Amen.

Countrymen,

Commonly in the USA, success is measured by the height of the stack of money one owns or can make others think one owns. And the height of that stack is measured — by others — by the location and size of one’s dwelling, the clothes one wears, the car one drives, the attractiveness of one’s wife, the jewelry worn by one’s wife and self and the orbit of acquaintances in which one moves effortlessly.

Uncommonly, success is measured by the goodness of one’s heart. And that goodness is measured — by others — by the loyalty of one’s family and friends, the comfort others have in one’s presence, the structures of culture one has helped to build, the confidence one has in their self, the innate cheerfulness one sheds among others and the volume and distribution of tears shed at one’s passing.

Commonly we cheer the common, but the uncommon is the root of happiness.
