Countrymen,

Republicans in Washington State and elsewhere are fawning over this catch.

I understand the drift of his thoughts and that he would attract approval.  Not that it matters, I do not know what it would take to convince me he is on the level.  Were Iranian espionage to concoct a perfect patter for a mole in the RNC and beyond, this would be it.

For example, this makes me uneasy: promoting entrepreneurship.  I have never liked that word or concept because it is superficial.  Any tyrant is an entrepreneur.  Any tyrannical regime has and encourages entrepreneurial activity … so long as it fosters the regime and its domineers.

What I like to hear is talk of private enterprise.  That no tyrant or tyrannical regime will abide.  So that, not entrepreneurship, should be the message.

Also, I am uneasy promoting Freedom and Liberty, with capital F and L, yet.  Every tyrant and tyrannical regime promotes Freedom and Liberty … for themselves and their cronies.  Islam is notorious for this:  everyone has Freedom, so long as they are Muslims and do not affront the Mullahs.  And every tyrant and tyrannical regime promotes themselves as upholding values no one would argue against.  Listen to the White House occupiers.  They vigorously promote high-sounding values.  Who can argue with them on that basis?  Or Moslems?  No one can

However, Freedom and Liberty are not values, they are activities.  And there, in the action, as St. Francis said, is the truth and the one thing valuable.

What I like to hear talk of is free exercise of thought, speech and action, free exercise of religion, free exercise of movement, free exercise of association, free exercise of private enterprise and property.  Those activities no tyrant or tyrannical regime will abide.  Freedom and Liberty they support, but not the doing thereof, other than by themselves and their cronies.  So free activity, not Freedom and Liberty, should be the message.

Language is everything, it is what matters.  Ultimately, it only is what matters.

I will take a long-shot and posit, though at this time will not assert, that the Republican Party in Washington State and apparently elsewhere is being taken in by this personality.
