Secession from the Union is being proposed, again.
While I understand its emotional base and conceptual rigging, I cannot agree with this approach. The reasons are simple: (1) the metaphor of spousal abuse is not applicable to the Constitutional dialectic between the sovereign states and the federal government they enable and (2), even more importantly, the option of secession is already categorically mooted/removed by Lee’s surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia to Grant on this date in 1865.
Secession is not an option for restoring Constitutional USA. Other means must be found and are available to the purpose. Restoration, not secession, is the means to hand, and that requires intense intellectual/historical/philosophical/religious dive into the fundamentals of life and its abiding structures and energies.
Civil War is underway, to be sure, but we are protagonists for the union of sovereign states and globalists are protagonists for secession of a new type: dissolution of the union to make way for a global hegemony … theirs.
In 1860, Democrats tried to secede from the Union. Now they are trying to dissolve the Union. That is the civil war, to make Democrats surrender that desire of theirs. When they do, Communism finally will be dead and buried. Gone.

Related 1: One notes that General Lee and his Officers did not attend the surrender ceremony wearing suicide-bomb vests. Nor did General Grant and his Officers slaughter General Lee and his. Not only so, General Grant did not ask for General Lee’s sword and did stipulate — on his own initiative without General Lee’s having to beg(!) — General Lee’s Soldiers to return, paroled, to their homes with their horses, who were essential to putting in crops for a starving population.

We do not need more diagnosis. The disease is known: in psychiatric terms, malevolent narcissism; in theological terms, malevolent ego. Ever more intimate description of the presentation is pornographic, like an excess of advocacy on an automobile’s hind surface.
Wanted now is treatment and prognosis. Who is doing that? Who is even just thinking about doing that? Who is remarking and applying the deep structures and energies of life, especially human life, in which sanity — in theology, freedom — is available?
[Years ago an acquaintance commended the Power Line team to my attention and I read them for a while. Then I told the acquaintance I assessed the Power Line team as behind the times, tardy actually given their intellects, pedigrees and training with respect to grasping what was happening and why. Now I think they have caught up with respect to diagnosis but are behind the times — which means the need — with respect to treatment and prognosis. Still, they are a rowdy read.]

Update 3: Secession from your country may be compared to giving your home to a thief rather than fighting, even unto death, for what is yours. Only more so, far more so. For your house is merely temporary shelter and your home is wherever you are, but your country is one of your seven mothers (the others being: natural mother, mother earth, mother cow, mother language, mother religion and mother scripture). Furthermore, secession raises the difficulty, at least, of defeating your mother country’s desire to keep you united with her as well as the impossibility of containing her efforts to reunite you in her fold. They are going to want you back! And they will not cease work until they are satisfied that you are. Her offspring cannot abjure their mother.
