This post sketches some ideas regarding The Law of Expansion in context of The Three Brothers Doctrine. Expansion means, in this case, transcending the institutional and conceptual straightjackets alliances and structures formed to address and forge conditions following World War II are now (and have been since 1990 at least) … because extant circumstances are fundamentally different than they were in 1945 … and should have been expected to be.
POTUS Reagan made an accomplishment, he forced the collapse of the Soviet. The USA’s so-called, soi disant, foreign policy establishment even yet has not adjusted to the opportunities that success entrained. It’s still stuck on stupid in the straightjackets of obsolete concepts and institutions … fighting desperate rear guards now to keep itself and those straightjackets in place. De loves dem der restraints.
Said establishment disgraced themselves by their obstinate refusal cheerfully and positively to face conditions they did not expect or create, a refusal caused by an admixture of sloth, fear and venality. This has been on their part a capitol leadership failure. Opportunities and lives have been lost and dangers created because the USA’s soi disant foreign policy establishment has been pigheaded and pusillanimous. In a word, stupid.
I summon the doctrine of expansion, moreover, as successor to the doctrine of containment, with which the USA and perforce virtually all nations have been compelled to live for seventy years. Kennan’s doctrine of containment, even as misunderstood by President Truman, NSC-68 and subsequent Cold Warriors (today’s NeoCons), handed the initiative in statecraft to the Soviet. USA was to react to Soviet activities. Unless one is God, that is a posture of weakness. Even the march of events itself has obsolesced Kennan’s doctrine, as it has misunderstandings of his doctrine that became official conceptual frameworks for USA foreign policy, activities and alliances.
Americans like having the initiative. They like taking care of their own affairs. As well they should. This trait distinguishes us as a nation and as individual citizens thereof. It should distinguish all nations and their citizens. Life is expansion.
Three Brothers Doctrine this blog contemplates as follows:
Cultivate expansion of USA national strength and happiness by reaffirming USA national sovereignty and a USA national posture of latent or patent, resting or rampant pro-active initiative, as opportunities for compounding USA national prestige present.
Just in Europe alone conditions are not what they were in 1945. Ditto the USA and virtually every other nation. However, to examine expansion in the contest of Three Brothers Doctrine, let us consider just Europe.
With the exception of Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and possibly Spain, Europe today is Moslem. A Roman Catholic Priest is beheaded in Normandy, France by fanatics apostles for the religion of peace the global Salafist Jihad.
I’m looking at this incident in context of Donald and Melania Trump’s saying he would consider alliance with Russia against Daish (an alliance which in military-to-military terms is already stood up). Well, alliance with Russia against the whole of Salafist Jihad makes perfect sense. India should be included in that alliance. With the exception of Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and possibly Spain, Europe now accepts the Salafist Jihad, deliberately invited it in, both afraid of and now unable to stop it, so instead of protecting Europe, now Moslem, from Russia (still Christian), in that region (Europe) USA should be protecting the Intermarium and Russia from pincer movement coming from their west (Moslem Western Europe) and East (the Moslem ‘stans), south (Turkey) and southeast (Iran). Russia’s geography is a national security nightmare, the cause of ageless Russian insecurity. So, help guarantee her borders and vice versa.
Donald and Melania Trump are right, NATO is obsolete. Staying in NATO, USA directly protects the global Salafist Jihad that controls Western Europe. Times have changed. American citizens themselves watch the Democratic-Republican Uniparty dissolving the United States and attacking them personally by destroying their country’s borders. This is why Donald and Melania Trump, who does not need to, decided to offer in, to help save the country and protect her citizens. And it is why a movement-in-waiting immediately polymerized around his offer.
What is needed now is forging out the conceptual framework that expresses and concretizes in institutions and alliances the powers of history and being itself which are in evidence and at play. Just in Europe alone, NATO, SACEUR, EUCOM and Bretton Woods need replacing and with the force vectors running pretty much the opposite direction from those created in the 1940s. Excepting Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and maybe Spain, Western Europe is Salafist, an enemy now of Christian and Hindu civilizations. An enemy of the USA. Western Europe — essentially, the West and North Frankish/Germanic tribes — stupidly threw away the chance to imbibe sweet freedom even when Americans gave her the opportunity, twice. She won’t get a third unless she creates it herself, which requires binding her consciousness to truth. That is a spinning round (conversion) not done without a bone-jarring shake out of conceptual inertia. Really, only monasteries can supply that need.
Latin Christianity in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Spain and Greek Christianity in Southern and Eastern Europe, Russia and the Intermarium have stood down the Salafist Jihad far more than have the Latin Church’s Roman, Reformed, Lutheran and Anglican iterations in Western Europe, Scandinavia and Great Britain … and the USA. This lends verisimilitude to the Russian-Soviet-Russian propaganda line that the West is decadent.
The West and North Germanic tribes always have been partial to totalitarianism, so they welcome the Salafist Jihadis as co-religionists. An exception to that rule is German Pietism (e.g., J. S. Bach and P. J Tillich) and French Quietism (Madam Guyon) and Jansenism (Port-Royal, Pascal). The generality will accept and follow leaders who protect them, remove obstacles from their paths and regulate their activities fairly.
China has punched through and is now inside the USA western strategic line of defense, namely, the East Asian littoral. The Soviet, through their North Vietnam proxy started to turn the southern (left) flank of that line in the 1960s and for a decade met with USA resistance. The Soviet effort failed even though a Republican President, Gerald Ford, handed them what at the time looked like a victory. Then China tried where the Soviet failed and also failed.
Now, a very different China, has accomplished what an earlier China and Soviet could not. Much more even. Ignoring the southern flank of the USA western strategic line of defense, a patient, long-game, audacious China has punched through the very center of and moved far behind that line, and even to include through and behind its southern reaches. And with zero American resistance. China now owns the South and East China Seas. Those are her sovereign waters.
This is a geopolitical accomplishment of the first water, so to speak. Even discounting encouragement by a rampant USA Democratic-Republican Uniparty who loves everyone but Americans, virtually inviting anyone to violate USA independence, sovereignty, solvency, supremacy and security, this accomplishment of China’s will be remembered as a really marvelous piece of statecraft.
Some so-called international tribunal, accosted by other nations bordering the South China Sea, declared China a bad team player for violating global governance advocates’ rules-based international order. (Said advocates mean rules-based global order, that is, one without sovereign nation states, to include no sovereign state so-called China.) China promptly sneered and jeered at the so-called court and promised to sink Australian shipping entering its so-called territory, the South China Sea. And China added a few aspersions on Australian parentage. So there! No sane person expects nothing more to follow by way of Chinese claims for territorial sovereignty beyond the traditional borders of China.
Among other things, China’s bad manners documents the possible … make that probable … make that certifiable … insanity of a so-called rules-based international global order. Only people devoted to stimulants and anti-depressants could fabricate that fantasy. Ditto so-called international law. There are agreements between sovereign nation states. There is no global/international law governing sovereign nation states. There never will be because no one would enforce it … and if there is global/international law, then by definition, there cannot be sovereign nation states beholden to it much less able to enforce it. It’s one or the other, sovereign nation states or global/international law. And since it cannot be the latter, it has to be the former. QED.
Conveniently, China — as also Germany, Iran, Iraq, Arab Arabia, North Korea, the Soviet and a few thousand state, city, region and other groupings through the aeons — has proven the stupidity of global governance advocates‘ goal. This is not to say said advocates have taken the point. They have not, and will not. The psychotropics/demons to which they are addicted/enslaved will not allow them to take the point. But their tenure with hands on mechanisms of nation state governance is coming to an end. And their breeding sheds — colleges and universities — even now, obligingly, are burning themselves to the ground.
The world of man can be composed only of competing national sovereignties and their alliances. China’s claim to sovereignty over the South and East China Seas will be extirpated by a competing sovereignty comprising an alliance of nation states led by The Three Brothers: USA, India and Russia.
Those three — supported by allied nations in the Pacific and East, South and Central Asia — will triangulate China from North (Russia, Mongolia), West (Russia, Kazakhstan), East (USA, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Taiwan) and South (India, Nepal, USA, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Australia, New Zealand). The three tools of statecraft — diplomacy, finance and warfighting — will be brought to bear for China to realize a fresh, for her, grasp of reasonableness. Those three brothers regulate international affairs for centuries to come. Their wishes guide developments.
What did General Anatol Alexis Gogol say about American/Western research? Something like, Where would Russian technology be without it? A delightful British TV series named Sleepers made the same point but with regard to Russia’s need for Britain’s social and financial strength in order to maintain Russia’s overall strength.
Heraclitus: conflict is the father of all things. Everyone needs someone strong enough to stand up to them or they cannot make anything, literally, anything at all. My wife once commented that that is why she came to live with me. One hand cannot clap. One person cannot tango.
Russia will support the candidate who is strong enough to stand up to Russia and deal fairly with her. That is Donald and Melania Trump. Hillary is too easy, a pushover, does nothing to hone Russia’s abilities, creates no opportunities for Russia to strain a muscle. With Hillary, Russia would have to clap with one hand, can’t be done, wouldn’t get Russia anywhere. Vlad wants a sparing partner who can go the distance with him. I think he should have one: Donald and Melania Trump.
What motivates a nation’s actions? Self-interest, people will say, inside which I include self-preservation. Not wrong, but not saying anything, either. A non-answer answer. Fear? Greed? Cussedness? Stupidity? More non-answer answers. Let us look at three prime variable factors motivating nations’ actions: reason, respect and freedom of movement.
No matter what a nation does, said nation will tell herself she is acting reasonably. Whatever she discovers to be her self-interest (to include self-preservation), she will declare it logical and necessary not only forwardly for her goals but backwardly for her history. A nation will always see her behavior as consistent, meaning reasonable, throughout her existence. Therefore, a nation will always express and explain herself in terms which to her and, she hopes, to everyone else will sound integral with her nature and destiny as a nation. No nation will think much less admit that she has, can or even would defy herself. Even suicides consider their action reasonable. The impulse to be reasonable, therefore, is even more abyssal than the impulse to concretize self-interest.
Like any creature, a nation needs to be respected, meaning, it wants to be free of interference and, par excellence, attack. The only way to do that is to instill a would-be attacker or meddler with an absolute certainty of unpleasant consequences for them were they merely to try to concretize their hostile contemplations.
To get quickly to what respect means, think Sicilian. Think Russian, for that matter. Think Theodore Roosevelt, even William McKinley.
Now, the language of respect is not the language of an isolationist. And one using that language, if they mean it — and I have no doubt Donald and Melania Trump mean it — does not threaten consequences of disrespect. There are ways to instill hostile-impulse-extinguishing caution in a contemplating enemy without making threats, which always are a weak action. These ways usually involve a demonstration, a message, of some kind. It does not have to be dramatic or public. A simple glance across a table or tone on a telephone can be sufficient unto the need. But whatever it takes, a nation, especially a large and able nation, must maintain the respect of all other nations by the only way that is possible: make the others find it unreasonable to meddle with or attack you.
(That rubric, incidentally, applies when dealing with so-called non-state actors — to include those consigned, apparently, to irrationality — as much as it does to state actors. And in fact there are no non-state actors, especially of the Moslem persuasion, whose so-called religion they regard as itself a sovereign nation state, and the only legitimate one — nation and religion — into the bargain.)
Finally, of abyssal importance to a nation and its citizens is freedom of movement for their individual persons and for those persons’ industrial, financial and merchant activities. If a man cannot get the fruits of his labors to market, to sell or gift them, he cannot be a man. If a person cannot travel from place to place, obeying the rules in place along his way, he cannot support his family. A nation exist, in part, for the very purpose of guaranteeing her citizens’ freedom of movement at home and abroad. Law of Expansion. Freedom of movement is the prius of conflict, which is the prius of invention, which is the prius of peace. If you want peace, guarantee freedom of movement. If you want war, arrest freedom of movement.
Statecraft is deployment and protection of powers of being. Man is more than logical. He embodies and presents for regulation powers of the very universe itself, and more besides. These powers, the powers of being, are pre-logical. Any effort to suppress or contain them must meet with an explosion, the which to have is in no one’s interest. Rules are made for man, to serve man’s needs, and they are changed to address man’s conditions — the constant of which is change — conditions partly created by the application of the very rules which must change to address fresh conditions. The law is an ass and so are rules. They go obsolete with use, which obsoletes conditions rules were created to address. And on it goes indefinitely with laws and rules. They are made for man. They are revised for man. They are discarded for man. They are not there to control man. They are used to regulate man’s behavior relative to fleeting conditions, and therefore, laws and rules themselves are of fleeting utility. Constantly new ones must be created and old ones revised or discarded in order for man to respond to birthing and dying conditions of his existence. That is statecraft.
Law of Expansion. Never get stuck in a habit of thought or a rut of activity. Always, Law of Expansion. Always, Duty Honor Country. Always, Duty Is God; Work Is Worship.
On being serious. No POTUS since Thomas Jefferson and James Madison has been serious about Salafist or Shiite Jihad. Nor has one since Tom and Jim cognized Jihad. Their initiative in the Barbary Wars convinced European powers to compel freedom of movement in the Mediterranean Sea by eliminating Jihadist theft and extortion therefrom.
A hundred plus years later, Woodrow Wilson helped birth Salafist and Shiite Jihad in the 20th Century. He and the British Foreign Office gave the Arabian Peninsula to a usurper, the Wahhabi/Salafist promoter, La Famiglia Al Saud. The Muslim but not Salafist Hashemite Family, who led the Arab Revolt against the Ottomans during World War I, supporting Allenby through Lawrence — and who are the traditional and legitimate guardians of Mecca and Medina — Wilson and the British FO abandoned for commercial reasons. That is the reason Salafist Jihad is rampant today. Today’s rampancy of Shiite Jihad traces to CIA and British stupidities meddling in Iran. Again, for commercial reasons.
With the as it turned out temporary and partial exception of George W. Bush, every POTUS since Wilson has strengthened Salafist and Shiite Jihad. None has cognized their natures. Some praise them and elevate their members to positions from which they can be strong on Americans. Every POTUS since Wilson has allowed, invited or swarmed Salafist and Shiite Jihadis onto American soil and into American institutions, to include schools, banks and government agencies and offices.
Through the 1980s, that process was thought of as do-gooding with a mix of protection-buying. Since the 1990s, that process has been thought of as nation-dissolving with a mix of political-housecleaning. Today the Salafist Jihad, through the Moslem Brotherhood, controls the Democratic-Republican Uniparty while the Shiite Jihad, also, controls the State Department and White House. Citizens, meanwhile, in overwhelming numbers consistently despise both Jihads and the decisions and Jihadist sympathies of the soi disant experts pretending as their academic, political, juridical and bureaucratic betters and even rulers.
In other words, no POTUS since James Madison has been serious about Jihad. No POTUS since Madison has taken seriously Jihadi’s own clear declarations of universal hegemonic intent and clear efforts to concretize said intent. This is peculiar. Through Ronald Reagan’s presidency, complacency — which is to say, stupidity — regarding Jihad ruled the D.C. roost. Since then, malice — which is to say cupidity — has ruled that roost, with a brief interlude of five years (2003-08), when Salafist and Shiite Jihadis (but not Jihad itself) were answered in geographic and moral part, and never even close to fully.
Some Jihadis were answered but not Jihad itself.
Mostly, since Reagan, Jihad has been treated as an opportunity to launch and propagate an entirely different agenda, one inimical to USA national sovereignty and USA citizens as unique Americans: global governance. Global governance promoters (Globalists) even take their universal hegemonic intent to justify NOT being serious about Jihad, so confident are they of the ineluctable, imperishable inevitability of the implementation of their intent.
Global governance is to Jihad a competing — and to its promoters vastly superior and signal — hegemonic project. Its promoters market an appearance of answering Salafist and Shiite Jihads in order to obscure their dear agenda: to sabotage personal and national identities and national sovereignties. Without reference to the wishes of citizens, of course. That is malicious.
Jihadis, like Fascists, steal men’s bodies. Globalists, like Communists, steal men’s souls. Jihadis will torture and kill you and be done with it. Globalists will want to get inside your mind to hollow you out from there. There is a difference. Globalists — modernly the Democratic-Republican Uniparty — use their unserious address to Jihad to incite FUD in USA and other citizens’ hearts. In that condition, a nation’s citizens are more easily stripped of their personal identities and national sovereignty. That is malicious.

SUMMARY
1- A grand strategic alliance — and allegiance — of three brother states: India, USA and Russia.
2- Europe — excepting Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, the Intermarium and possibly Spain — is Moslem and therefore enemy of The Three Brothers Allegiance Alliance.
3- Jihad, rather than merely Jihadis, must be abruptly silenced through the determined application of overwhelming lethal force (diplomatic, financial, military, police). Primary target: Mullahs, Imams and Ayatollahs. Secondary target: La Famiglia Saud, Qom, Iran.
4- Free movement across the world’s seas and oceans must be guaranteed by countries whose national defense lines border or cross traditionally open waters claimed for any reason by an hegemonic state, in particular today, China. Method: counter-sovereignty claim on the same waters backed by respect-inducing behavior. Restriction on freedom of movement is a real reason for war (prophasis) vice a stated reason for war (proschema, Latin equivalent: casus belli).
5- The reason for a nation state is her citizens’ need and desire for protection, freedom of movement and fair regulation of their activities.

I commented: I might be less downright about alliance between Russia and China. I see cooperation on specifics there but not fundamental common interest or presence in being. Russia has considerable common interest and presence in being with both India and USA. And they with Russia. So I would factor, as a squeeze, an alliance among those three leaving China no chair to sit in. Frankly, that alliance — USA, India, Russia — is the grand throttle on China’s hegemonic aspirations. There is not another one entirely able to do the job.
