As of 27NOV15 I am not updating this or the first post on American colleges and universities to not attend or support. Reason: the point has been made and others are sufficiently on the beat, so to speak. There is no further need for me to make the point or walk the beat. I will focus on grand national strategic goal, strategy and tactics. That beat is insufficiently walked and has been a focus of mine for long.
19 November 2020: Josh Hammer uses the word madrassas to describe what most US high ed institutions are now. (Lower ed too, of course, who are trained by high ed.) Finally, someone visible does that!: Biden’s Student Loan Forgiveness Plan Is Idiotic and Immoral
I call schools noted below madrassas,
not colleges and universities, because
their stock in trade is ideology and proselytizing,
not inquiry and learning.
Names of their presidents are included.

Related 43: Madrassa ranked by alumni earnings expectations contra earnings realities. As some commenters point out, other variables are involved besides those used by the study’s authors. One of these is notorious: Harvard Madrassa is a grade-inflation mill where little academically is expected of students. Reports have Dartmouth Madrassa in the same posture. More on epidemic grade inflation here, and here.
Related 44: It was Locke, IIRC, who mentioned, in his letter concerning Toleration, that toleration should not be extended to the intolerant because they are hegemonic and totalitarian. They will fly your airplane into your home with you and yours in both.
I do not recall his discussing the brutal intolerance of individuals demanding tolerance of the intolerant, namely, themselves.
Everything members of the Globalist-Caliphist cartel do and say is more or less conscious perversion of Christian doctrine. Everything: from weaponized empathy to taunting evangelism to violent piety. They madly envy the Church and hate Her members and their handiworks.
Without Christian doctrine to fight against, members of the Globalist-Caliphist cartel would be normal, sensible people. That they fight against it argues the universal validity and steady persistence of Christian doctrine. Christian doctrine should self-extinguish for this reason? To ease Globalist-Caliphist hatred? And deprive Globalist-Caliphists of their reason-for-being? That WOULD be cruel.

Deformities of this order, and so widely iterated, indicate more than attack on, dysfunction or loss of freedom. They indicate the obsolescence of an architectonic. An old body collapsing from age in normal use. Nothing to lament or stir alarm regarding.
The architectonic expiring is the industrial model of compulsory institutional education. The curriculum is spent and its administration is hysterical. A new body, a fresh architectonic of education must be aborning somewhere, somehow. Probably among homeschoolers and charter schoolers, which means, among mothers and fathers and their children.
The first steps, I should think, are to reacquire the curriculum and de-industrialize the administration thereof.

Subject: Post Election Support
Dear Students,
We at the Multicultural Affairs Office hope this email reaches you and you are doing ok. We know many of you stayed up waiting to hear of the election results. These are unprecedented times. The nation as well as our community is reacting in many different ways. We are reaching out to each of you because we know that this was an intense election and we are already hearing a number of reactions, feelings and emotions. This is a critical time to make sure that you, your friends, classmates, neighbors are doing ok and seeking the appropriate support especially if they need a place to process or work through what they’re feeling.
You may hear or notice reactions both immediate and in the coming weeks, some anticipated and many that may be difficult to articulate or be shared. While it may take some time to fully take in all the recent events, please also know that the OMA office is here for you. Our UMass Lowell community is here for you. Do not hesitate at all to come in or ask for support.
Today there is a Post-election self-care session from 12-4pm in Moloney. The event will include cookies, mandalas, stress reduction techniques and mindfulness activities. Counseling and Health Services will also be available. We have sent out messages through our Social Media sites as well as encouraging students to drop in all week. Above all, take good care and know that there is strength in our community that you can lean on.
Kind regards,

Museums and Feminist Matters: Considerations of a Feminist Museology
Arndís Bergsdóttir, University of Iceland
Abstract
This article speaks to a post-human feminist museology. It argues that considerations of a feminist museology would benefit from engaging with post-human feminist dialogues currently unfolding within academia. Dynamic political landscapes and global circumstances challenge dualist paradigms. Theorizations of museums are not exempt from these challenges. Critiques of androcentricity indicate that feminist theorizations have never fully centred on “the human”, but always already contextualized how we affect the world, and how the world affects us. Discussions in this article follow Barad’s agential-realist theorization of the material-discursive practices that shape our understandings in and of the world, and Haraway’s notion of diffraction that engages the material and re-tools recordings of object histories as entangled human and non-human processes that can be taken apart and reassembled, making different possibilities possible. The article demonstrates that museological alternatives that emerge from conversations about entanglements not only aim to move beyond the paradigms they have been circling within for so long, but towards a re-thinking of museology and cultural heritage museums. Thus, considerations of a feminist post-human museology re-imagine museums as entangled becomings that make different possibilities possible.

Not believing in religion is not the same as not believing in God. You can be spiritual without being religious.
David R. Graham to kevinstroup
Well, Tillich is famous for saying that Christianity is the world’s great anti-religion religion. I add Hinduism to that description, but that will be a bridge too far for many at this time.
Dragblacker to David R. Graham
I’m not sure I follow. Does it mean that Christianity and Hinduism have elements in them that lead some people to eschew religion entirely?
David R. Graham to Dragblacker
Yes, that is what it means. It also is in Hebrew Prophetism. Religion is a means, not an end, much less the end. Like all means, it is fraught with danger because it can lead either Godward or Godaway because there are right ways to be religious and wrong ways. In fact, far more wrong ways than right ways. Far, far more. Religion is very dangerous in the absence of experienced and skilled guidance. Religion (Latin re + ligare) means binding up that which has become unbound. Once a body is repaired, its ligaments (ligare) grown or tied back together, it has no need for the doctor who or the procedures which repaired it.
Lawman45 to David R. Graham
Tillich is correct. Christianity, shorn of the Elmer Gantrys of the world, is a great handbook to living in a large society. Just remember that the substance is correct but all the rest is B.S. And, as I learned at Notre Dame, the “Priests”, the “Rabbis”, and the “Ministers” are just ordinary folk who live life free off of the insecurities of others.
